Why is the APA so frowned upon?

WOW you played APA on 9' tables? I though everyone played on bar box. Maybe thats why so many of us are over handicaped. If we had more diamond 9s here I would love to play on 9' but not sure we would ever get out before closing time.

    Break Speed - curiousity

my guess is baraks, gomez, or nevel. Lots of people can really crack em but control is more important. I have heard 36 thrown around for baraks but have not seen it clocked. he hit 33 on the clock that I saw. Most pros can hit 27-30 if they want to but breaking 9-10 ball most are in the...

Why is the APA so frowned upon?

I have played Valley and BCA and this year I got asked to join a APA team. I think as a whole this league is not for me but I will finish out the season. Our team won the first session in our league and we are heading to masters. I think the top six teams at masters get the trip to vegas...

    Bending the Object Ball

It can be done. when shooting on the right side of table you aim to miss the ball your going around slightly to the left and hit CB with extreme low left putting top right on the OB. It will work like a gear and move the OB slightly to the right moving down the table.

Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I am still baffled by the ranking system. Its the age of computers and almost everyones stats from several years is online somewhere. I am sure you could take player AVERAGE and have a multiplier of strength of leage to figure out how well players can play. Also having masters from every...

    Whiteball - damage?

last night I was at a bar that only had the valley white ball I was straight up bashing it and not one mark on it. My breaks were up to 26 MPH but most are in the 22-23 range. From my breaking I have only found that the red circle or like cueballs are showing the marks. Amyone else notice this?

    Whiteball - damage?

for sure! if I was a cue repair man I would be liking the new ruling!!!!! cha ching they will get to charge you for grinding down your tip and puting a leather on instead. how much do you think that will strum up buisness? not me, not one penny! I am keeping my g10 I carry my own cue...

"Winner breaks" rule hurts the game

Winner break is always the way it should be!!! arnt people looking for the best player on that particular day? Or does everything need to be sugar coated into thinking it should be fair? it should be atleast a race to 7 or more. races to 3-4 are a joke

    Help me make informed decision

most play with a med or harder tip. price dosnt matter since its not the tip its the stroke that will make a cue ball draw. you can learn to full table draw using a G10 tip but will loose some feel. I would say just find one you like and stick to it. I think its best to stick to brands that have...

    Phenolic tip ban

I'm not! I will break soft with shooting cue till I read the rules. I have a G10 one piece with a small hole drilled in it and a small piece of leather in it. seems like a leather tip to me.

    Lift the ban bca!!!!!!

the ban is probally more for people with 26+ MPR breaks I would never think a jump would cause harm to the cue ball. Its not a speed shot. I wonder if any cue repair men were in on the vote since noone will give a reason of how many cue balls they had to replace due to not rolling right...

G-10 tips, should they be banned?

I dont see how people think its gona ruin a whole set of balls. Cue ball only gets hit. Ya the G-10 puts tiny dings in the cue ball but so does bouncing them off concrete. I am guessing the owners of pool tables spend more to replace stolden or lost pool ball than ones that are broken by a G10...
