Slightly off topic, but I think... I think mine is leaving marks on my Duramith cueball that my Diamond ball cleaner doesn't take off. The cueball was off the table a couple times onto the concrete floor but there's just too many marks on the cueball for that to be the sole cause.

Simonis tourney blue. Went from green 860 to tb 760. Not even close. The blue is (and was designed to be) easiest on your eyes. The balls also stand out much more clearly on the tb Simonis.

My Duramith cueball... My Duramith cueball was off the table twice onto a smooth, 2 coat painted concrete floor. I'll post some pics of it later.

Now that you dropped your cueballs on concrete... hold them under a light and look at the spots they hit.

The Duramith balls... The Duramith balls definitely leave less burn marks on the cloth when breaking rotation games. The technology also results in a reduced μ which seems most noticeable when drawing the cueball, which makes sense.

Couldn't you... Couldn't you take the slates to a stone working company? I've seen them in my area and they have pretty big flat grinding tables for everything from granite on down. Could easily handle an 8 x 8 foot piece at the minimum. I'm sure it wouldn't be prohibitively expensive...
