    Yet another CTE thread (sigh)

Only 2 reasons (within your control) that you miss shots… mis-stroke or mis-aim. Most people aim better than the think they do, so let’s assume, at an SL4 it’s a stroke issue. That sounds simple, huh? Not so simple. To have a good stroke you have to have a good foundation, a good stance...

    CTE Testimonials

DP is nothing more than an advanced CTE Method, rather the MOST advanced CTE method. The manual pivot of Basic CTE or the Visual Sweep of Pro One are replaced with a more fluid “automatic” approach to the cue ball. The word “Disguised” isn’t meant to imply it’s “secretive” or that DP users are...

    best cte videos on youtube?

. Yes, the Truth Series and the Book will make things MUCH more clear and understandable. I'm not on here to argue with anyone... CTE Pro One is my preferred method. If someone prefers something else, more power to them, but I play a decent game using Pro One. I have a few players in my pool...

Finding Quarter Ball (A / C in CTE)

If you can find an “older” Centennial striped ball, the edges of the stripe are at 1/4, or A & C. Newer centennials and Aramith balls are close, but the old Centennials are dead on. As someone else stated, place the stripe where you are looking straight at it. Do this and you’ll burn in the A...

    With Winning in Mind

I know that there are some great books dealing with the mental/phsychological aspect of our game, but there is one that, while not well known, is required reading for my "higher than intermediate" students. With Winning in Mind by Lanny Bassham Don't get me wrong, I enjoy and have in my...

for low500 teaching pool vs teaching how to win

I was watching a set in my poolroom and one player dogged the 7 and left a 3 stop shot out for his opponent and said "Wow I just gave you that one". Without a moments hesitation, his opponent, a younger guy said "Oh, is that Klingon for 'I CHOKED', because I didn't know it was a gimme... I...

What do you look at when getting into your stance.

After I acquire my visuals, which is only a couple of seconds after I stand behind the cue ball, then I'm focused on the cue ball and where I want to strike the cue ball from that instant until my bridge hand hits the table and I'm in full stance.

Sight Along Stick or Something Else?

Short answer is yes. Longer answer: One very popular pro player sights along edge of cue to contact point. Another I know personally sights overlap or contact point to contact point. Another yet, sights Center Cue Ball to an offset to the contact point. ...and yet another (great player) sights...

Sight Along Stick or Something Else?

PJ, I may be misunderstanding your question, but I sight down the center of cue stick on all shots. Actually, the inside corner of my right eye is on the center of the cue stick because that’s my “visual center” or the head/eye position that I best see center cue ball.

    bamboo ferrule

Coming from someone who makes his living with Bamboo (I make high end custom Bamboo fly rods),I think you will be shocked how durable this material is. I have bamboo fly rods in my collection that are over 120 years old, and still is usable as they were the day they were made. The only thing...

Last Time I'll Harp On This...little long

Johnnyt, I have done the same thing. I am 56 years old, and right after Christmas I went on a diet. I am 6'4" tall and weighed in at 310 pounds. Right now, I'm at 272 pounds and went from couldn't button my 42" pants under my belly to comfortably wearing 38" pants OVER my belly. My goal is...

    T.O.I by randyg

I bet it would be worth the trip... Dallas/Fort Worth area is great, except... do NOT park your rental car under a tree. Ever heard of a "grackle"? They can crap 10 times as much as they eat. I drove to Dallas, parked my black truck under a tree at the hotel... it was white the next morning.

    Pool rooms in Chattanooga, TN?

I am going to be in Chattanooga a couple of times over the next 30 days on flyfishing/bamboo rodmaking business. Sure would like to take my cues along and be able to hit a few balls. Any suggestions on decent places to play? Normally, I'd be on a different forum asking about places to fish...

    Old Man Cheated

And you're surprised someone didn't pay attention in a players meeting... Was playing at Derby and played a safety on a guy... he starts putting a jump cue together. Told him "Hey, you can't use a jump cue. You have to jump with your player". He basically accused me of sharking and then went...

    Oklahoma city.

If you venture east of OKC a little, Tulsa's Magoo's http://www.tulsamagoos.com/ is a good place to play... around 30 7' Daimond smart tables and 6 or 8 (can't remember) really tight Gold Crowns down the center... also, there's always good Golf going on at the Snooker table. Bob
