    Low deflection shaft

What is the ideal bore size in the front end of the shaft to make it a low deflection shaft? Is anybody out here know what the hole size and how deep is the hole of the shafts below? 314 - mm? 314 2 - mm? WD700 or any mezz shaft - mm? Long drill bit is quite expensive and would like...

    Drilling out a shaft

I done this but i have a cueman's lathe. Although i didn't go to a bigger drill diameter. If i can remember i used like 4mm dia drill bit. You might need to use around 6.5 mm diameter to really get it to LD shaft. You will risk of wrecking the shaft without a lathe.

    Hollow out the shaft.

Thanks for your reply, I have a cuesmith lathe for sanding down shaft. Although i still want to bore it out even in a smaller diameter that will help I guess.

    Hollow out the shaft.

The tip diameter is around 12.90 mm. I was hoping it has 3/8 tenon but i cant confirm. I can cut the ferrule down to the tenon and measure. If 3/8 then i will bore it out. If not then i will replace the ferrule and just sand it down to around 12.6mm. Hope that will lower the deflection.

    Hollow out the shaft.

Hard to go back from LD to normal shaft. I believe from experience it is easy to play with LD shaft. I would probably buy LD shaft for it and keep this one as a backup.

    Hollow out the shaft.

Hoping that would be the worst scenario if the tenon wont remain intact.

    Hollow out the shaft.

Now i need to know what size is the tenon. Apology to Olney, just can't handle the deflection, i got used to low deflection shaft and find it hard to play with a high deflection shaft thats why i want to bore it out. Any chance you know the size of the tenon?

Very nice cue indeed. Is having 6 points, say hi-low will affect the hit?
