Imagine if pool tables had no side pockets. Would pool be more interesting to watch?

Would any one watch the " Pros" if the tables where so tight they couldnt run 5 balls in a row ?Thats why i enjoy watching them hopping they never miss and make it look so easy . I say leave the tables and pockets alone and let them run out the set .

    How about some stories

One afternoon i walked into Rusty's in Dallas and one of the top players at the time was playing Little Al Mason on a valley bar table . Wade Crane seemed to be losing every game as Al made everything he shot at rack after rack .Not sure what they where playing for but know it was a wad of bills...

    Why change the game ?

Why does the pockets have to be smaller , the balls spotted anywhere but the spot , the cloth faster or slower, rules changed to make it harder for any one ? Does any one think that maybe tougher tables is driving away the very people you want playing ? Good players are going to beat weaker...

Help with info on Biagio cue? Made by Joss possibly?

I have a biagio cue and the only place its says "Biagio by Joss" is on the black collars under the stainless steel joint in gold letters . The shaft says " Joss" in gold letters on black collars. Its has 4 points and is a very well made cue . I have owned it since 1990.

I walked into Rustys Poolroom on Northwest hwy in Dallas tx in the mid 80s. Buddy Hall was playing Wade Crane 21 ahead on the bar table for big number. Should the TAR table stay as is or go to standard pockets? You choose.

4 1/2 get my vote . i enjoy watching racks run , not safeties and more safeties . One of the best matches i ever watched was Wade Crane and Buddy Hall playing on a valley bar table . Wade runs 13 racks , misses , Buddy runs 11 racks ... Does any one really remember great players matches off of...

can mosconi's high run be beat'n?

Todays balls , cloth . cues . chalk might make it easier than playing on a 4 by 8 with old dead balls on a slow cloth ...Arimas balls , measle cue ball , better chalk and tips .fast cloth , springy rails make breaking up the rack a lot easier ...Can it be done on the using the old equipment ...

Does Pool Need a Dominant Player to get World Wide Attention Like Other Sports?

I happen to agree with CJ ...And of course in rotation games the elimination of two foul to one foul makes it more of a safety game ...Takes a lot of the skill factor away from the best player ...
