Hmmm...could be.....seen him play a couple times in the 70s.
My road Szam was about like his...but ebony and light blue and green inlays on the points.

Some people used to give me hell for playing regularly with that cue...

i do believe your talking about James " the sniper "Christopher . Very good player that i saw play at the Le Cue in downtown Houston in early 70s . He was living around Memphis several years ago . Played the best and bet high lol.
 
Yep, James Christopher was who I was thinking about, and that Gus! Something special to me when a cue like his was in many cash games at the highest level.

Back then they were just another nice cue. Not uncommon to see Gina's, Schicks and Szams in the 'hall back then. Spains if you lived in Chitown and Tad's if you were Cali based. Now they're all worth stupid $$$. Should have kept all mine.
