Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

That's obvious, but not what I was getting at.

Predicting and Controlling Cue Ball Direction off a Rail with Follow Shots

Eat fried chicken and rub the rails... ;) You could probably just rub them with your hands, not dirty hands but just natural hand oil should dirty them up a little if you do it consistently for a while. You could also put some chalk on them and wipe it back clean, but I'd not want to do that...

    It's Been Three Months Now

Once I got the roomba I've not used the brush at all, it made the brush obsolete. I do have one of the Simmonis X 1 things for spot treatments like if I notice a chalk mark on the table. I don't know if it gets cold or anything where you live but a coat peg board by the door is nice if you need...

Tournament fees are out of control

We have a lot of $20-30 weekly tournaments but we also have some $50-100 ones a few times a year. Generally the higher entry ones have added pots and/or Calcutta and more people from further away show up.

    It's Been Three Months Now

A sound system and a tv can be nice. Even a cheap tv is nice for having matches or instructional material on. I also like to put up a visualization video for something in the background, something to this effect: Also a "roomba" type device so you don't have to manually vacuum the table...

Cue Ball Rotation vs Tip Diameter

It's a patch. When the tip hits the CB it flattens at the contact point. Chalk your tip, hit a CB and look at the missing chalk. It's not a pin point, it's probably the diameter of a grain of rice or even bigger. The balls even deform slightly when colliding. You can put the old "carbon copy"...

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I'm not to the point of actually making a cue yet, but I've tossed this idea around. Honestly I think it's how I'll do my cues by default unless it doesn't make sense design wise. It makes a lot of sense and takes the headache out of a customer having to match rings in the future.

    Dial indicator or dro

I've not used that DRO but just looking at the pics, it looks like it mounts nearest the tailstock . The lock wingnut for facing is in the middle. I think it would work, but it might make for tight quarters when locking down for facing. It's interesting, not horribly priced either.

    Cte finally explained?

Mind posting a link to "Blitzface"? I can't find anything with google. IMHO CTE has a lot. Almost too much. Sure you can parse out a few really good tips/tricks but I honestly think you would have to study it until you basically had a doctorate for the material to be able to fully use it. At...

    Keno board plans

This movie is pretty enjoyable. As a warning to the pearl clutchers, it's a movie about gambling on Keno pool. 😱 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt19407666/ It's on tubi for free, free on Amazon if you have prime and cheap elsewhere. It's a pretty good flick, a bit corny but in a good way.

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

Really? I know you're not really that ignorant so why pretend? I quoted what I found "political" even though you were also just acting like a jerk to try to get the person you were talking with to argue. It's kind of sad rhetoric and not a very good tactic anyway, just basically name calling...

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

Can you guys take the political rhetoric to NPR? I tire of hearing the tribalism on the main forum. There are other lenses to view life through than political parties and "MAGAts or Libtards." It gets really tiring for those of us not completely off the deep end in this stuff. I really don't...

    Buddy Hall - Practice Question

I don't know about said practice session but in the old days it would have made a lot of sense to practice spot shots. They were a decider in a lot of games, even things like 8B and 9B. Most games used to spot illegally made balls, so having that shot down would be strong.

    Great Pool Room Stories

I think it's the same guy but he played around in local stuff (Iowa) here a few years ago, but I hear he moved out west again. I always saw him using a stick that was probably 70" or more. It was a bit warped but his brother made if for him years ago. The guy can flat out shoot from what I saw...

    One I found...Danny vs. Grady

Grady could probably murder me on the table but he wasn't a monster player. He had heart/guts though. I think he really shined in the teaching/instructing aspect as well as commentary. Some of the things he would say had me rolling. That and he was knowledgeable enough to be able to learn from...

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

If I were given cues as part of a sponsorship deal I would sing their praises to the high heavens... as long as the cues weren't complete garbage. Most mid tier and up production brand cues will do anything and everything you could ever ask from them. That said it's nice to have a custom that...

    OB Cues?

From what I've heard they are quality and people really like them but they are a dead brand so they don't come up in conversation much around my area. You can't just go order one so people don't recommend them much but if you saw a used one or something you would be getting a good cue.

Thoughts ... Russian Kenny is out of prision

Here they don't care who buys the pool and I'm usually not good enough to be a threat. I was on one that day. Usually the pool is the folks who know they are dead money and don't feel like posturing. We get guys bidding themselves up to $100 or more and I can give them the 7 and out. 🤔 I'd...
