    Target Pool (original)

Outsville has "On the Money." I'd imagine you could use that target with the original rules.

    Shims

It's been years but if I recall correctly, natural rubber is an off white color. I highly doubt much natural rubber is used much anymore though, but if we're talking historically, the rubber would have come from tree latex. It's a pretty neat process, look up videos on rubber plantations or gum...

    Shims

This is the thread about it so as to not sidetrack this one. If you look at the pic I posted above you can see the difference in each side and how much rubber had to build it out to the correct angle. In the end I shot for 141 but they came out 142, he table played great with the Olhausen...

    New Rhino shaft.......................

The thing that most interests me is that it says it's more forward balanced. If I have one complaint with the regular Rhino it's that it feels a bit lighter/rear balanced than the wood shaft it replaced. This isn't to say it's bad or you can't easily get used to it. If I get one I'll report...

    Shims

If you look at a rail with the pocket facing removed you will see wood at the back. It's just covered by the facing. Here's a pic from google with and without the rubber. So basically if the facing wasn't there the cloth would be over rail rubber and cloth over wood at the back of the pocket...

    Shims

If you're talking pocket facings I don't know of any table that doesn't have them. Maybe a cheap aliexpress table or something... but no decent table. It's a heavy wear point and you have to also have something there so the balls aren't just smacking wood.

Is removing your glove a shark move?

I don't really have an opinion on if it is a shark move or not. Context matters a lot. That said if something as simple as an opponent removing a glove can throw your game, acknowledge it, move on, and this becomes a great opportunity to practice and strengthen your mental game. Unless they...

    Tip life

It's possible but I was in my super anal retentive tip maintenance phase and it glazed constantly on me. They may have improved but I still see glazed tips in the black ones all the time. They can be dressed up but it's far too much messing around with tips for my taste. Other brands don't glaze...

Ultimate Pool Shootout North Carolina bracket

I don't think in any of our games a spot either way of over 3 was involved. Most were even up or a spot of 1 or 2 games either way. I didn't hear anyone complain about the spots the entire week. We were there playing in the Grand Nationals, not complaining from the peanut gallery. ;)...

Ultimate Pool Shootout North Carolina bracket

It's really fun. The rules take a bit to remember but they all make sense for the format. Example, 3 point break rule makes sense because it makes you break a rack wide open. If you're a better player you may have to spot someone 4+ games in a 30 minute match. This means if they were to do a...

    Latest Nemesis Shot

I've found that often times our subconscious can't understand "don't" or "can't" and other negative modifiers. A better thing in this situation would be to catch yourself using negative modifiers in the act. Stand back up and try to visualize the shot going in. It can take a bit until...

    Latest Nemesis Shot

Great post! This is also called progressive practice drills. It's the best and quickest way to turn a trouble shot into an "in the bag" shot. Out of curiosity, if you do this shot mirrored (1B near bottom rail) do you have more success?

    Aiming B.S.

Aiming is pretty easy to teach in person. It's a bit more difficult to put to words. This isn't addressed to anyone in particular but it's hard to make a factual treatise on aiming because the problem is you have to see the shot with your own eyes. You might have to explain something 3 different...

    Table Stencils

My brain somehow parsed out the "on the skirt" part of OP's post. So now that I've seen that: It's kind of like a phone screen protector. Don't let air bubbles get under it. If they do you can pierce the bubble with a pin prick, but you'd rather not as sometimes the hole, however small, can...
