Both of these cues appear to have Rick's standard 3/8-11 joint pin. My question: are the pin threads "regular" (i.e. blade edged) or are they the modified type with the flatened edges? In other words, do they screw together effortlessly or is there some resistance ? Cheers,

Yeah, after a quick second look I noticed the brass insert....3/8" in a joint pin thread pitch is a wood-only application. Likewise, you'll only find 5/16" (14 or 18 tpi) screwed into metal. Cheers,

How big of a job is it to match an "aftermarket" shaft to a butt? In my case, the shaft is slightly over-sized, i.e. it "over-hangs" about 1/4 the way around the joint but is flush the rest of the way around. Both shaft and butt have collars w/ a silver ring.
