Brunswick Metro vs. Olhausen 8' table

Thanks to everyone for your advice. I thought things over and see that the Metro will run me close to $2,500 with all expenses tallied up. The price is approaching the cost of a new home table. I have read a lot about the pocket problems on the Olhausen so I am hesitant on getting that one. I...

Brunswick Metro vs. Olhausen 8' table

His starting price was 2k. I offered $1,200. He came back with $1,800. I offered to split the difference at $1,500 . He came back with $1,600 and that was the end of our dealing. Considering the new prices of everything seems like a great deal. I appreciate everyones help. I knew nothing about...

Brunswick Metro vs. Olhausen 8' table

Yes the Olhausen will be half the cost. And this deal is just for the table. With the cost of this table plus move and new cloth it will probably cost me under $1,200 total. The Metro total will be in the under $2,500 range. Double the price but is it worth it? Note that the Metro is in new...

BS drama and pool. Do they go hand and hand?

All I can tell you Danny is I personally would have never done that. If you call and I see it that is fine for me. Like I said before, sounds like the guy is a huge dick. Once again, I can speak only from my personal experience but the overwhelming majority of the people that play in my...

BS drama and pool. Do they go hand and hand?

Yes the dude saw everything and did not say a word until I pocketed the 8 ball. The captains said that it was between the two of us whether to strictly enforce the mark the pocket rule or not. The dude chose the no honor way in order to win. Obviously you are missing the whole point my friend...

BS drama and pool. Do they go hand and hand?

I live in Waretown NJ. I have been playing pool since 8 yrs old and I am now 60. Never in any league but I played in weekly money tournaments in bars through the years. I tried the APA a few weeks ago here at a local bar. What a joke!! All beginners and nit picking over the rules. I sat there...

Diamond Pro-am: Tourn. used vs. New

I was disappointed with the Diamond company. I contacted them through their website http://www.diamondbilliards.com/ a few weeks ago inquiring about prices for the pro am and professional tables. They never got back to me and I wound up buying a GC3 in great condition. Are they so busy that they...

    refinishing GC3 wood

That's what I first did and should have left it at that. Did you ever use a pre-stain wood conditioner? Says it's recommended to prevent blotching. I stripped the pieces and they still have some stain in them. I am wonder if I should pad sand them again down to bare wood or just stain as is.

    refinishing GC3 wood

The pieces looked great last night in the garage however today when the sunlight hit them the color is off. Too much chestnut color and not enough rosewood color like the inside of the ball box that was not refinished. The colors clash too much to be acceptable. Unfortunately the room where...

    refinishing GC3 wood

I just finished staining my GC3 wood parts. After sanding I tried using Minwax mahogany stain. It looked good but then I decided to try to get a finish close to the original which does not show as much grain. I used Minwax Polyshade red chestnut on top of the mahogany stain. This is poly plus...

    refinishing GC3 wood

Hi again I would like to sand the sides. spreader, ball box and legs on my GC3. I disassembled the table today and it was a little hard to tell if this wood is solid or has laminate on the facing. I don't want to make a mistake and sand through a laminate. Thanks.
