I think i got it. The shaft has a slight lift. I moved the tip MUCH closer to the jaws and it made it run a little more true which helped keep everything square and true.
Thanks everyone for the help. It's great that you all took the time to point some things out. It's much appreciated...
New to doing tips. I'm using a midsize cue smith, blade rest and blade to radius. The radius seems to be taller on one side than the other.
Any advice?

Well I was fortunate to get my hands on some. Tried them out, in and out of my jb rugged, purposely trying to pull the shafts out at an angle. The clipz didn't budge. Stay on my 314-2 shaft with no issues. You could easily hang a shaft by one of these. A+ and will definitely keep my case...
I'll test it for you. Shooting with a 314-2 shaft, going into a jb rugged. Also a pure-x break cue going into the same.
BOTH ARE 12.75

do you know if anything will be going to auction? i was born and raised in Torrington for about 12 years, would be kind of cool to get some sort of memorabilia for my home room.
that is a very awesome room, at a very reasonable price. Even though i currently have a basement, i would LOVE to have a separate out building, Loud music, my buddies and no chance of waking the old lady or the little girl we have on the way!
I live super close to kings of billiards and i work a mile from fiddlestix. if anyone ever wants to practice some let me know.
I love both those rooms and the tournament each of them hold really seem to keep the weekends busy.
