Table Markings?

How are your tables marked?

Right now my new (old) table just has the foot spot. Most places around here have a foot and head spot and no markings. Ewa suggested I might want to mark the head string, ShakesSea suggested tracing the triangle - I thought it was worth a separate thread.

What do you guys mark, or not, and why?

Thanks!

I just used a pencil marking mine, did it not too long ago, but I hear it will eventually wear off, which unless you are really sure about your markings Is a good thing, I think...

Resurrecting this thread. I don't think I even want to put a foot spot sticker when I re-cover my table, since the balls roll differently over it.

Am I alone in this?

The foot spot is the one you must have. If you don't, the break shot collision will wear a hole in the cloth and will expose the bare slate. In other words you will prematurely ruin your $3-400 cloth.

I now go so far as to use a break cloth as well under the cue ball before I break. It hurt my wallet to spend a bunch of cash reclothing my table.

This!

I also have the head string marked, as well as several small 'dots' in various places. The dots make it easy to replace the reinforcement rings (I take them off after practicing, as they catch my eye too easily while playing), for long straight in's etc.
