I have started using Meguiar's Cleaner Paste Wax with good results recently. I was using the Aramith product which gummed up in machine, and got in the cloth facings and cloth of my table.

Besides Keith being sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, (joke that Scott Smith always used when he introduced him) he always had a beer at his table during the matches I saw him in at the US Open.

It appears that the three main supply shops I use are all out of the Zan Grip Hard tips. Discontinued, or are they just behind on production? I only need a few.

At the ACS tournament in Vegas last week, the team I play on got 5/6 in 9 ball and we won the 8 ball standard division. We had no killers or a dream team, it was the same core group that play ACS league once a week throughout the season.

The pick of of the litter shafts went to the custom cues. The rest went to the sneakies.

I wish my 30 year old version of myself had the knowledge I do today, and the 63 man I am now had my 30 year old stroke and nerves. As such, perhaps when I retire I might be able to put in 2 hours of practice a day, now it is maybe 45 minutes once or twice a week.

My GCII has pinned slates and the mechanic glued the slates together as described by Sheldon. Bondo was also used on the seams.

You should have also looked into extending the sub rails instead of using thicker facings. Before I had my GC II done correctly (with changes done to the rail bevels and extensions), I had just installed superspeeds in replacement of the original monarchs. I knew nothing about the cushion...

Then I guess each LO does it different, ours has to be in the same week for a grand slam. I never played multiple nights a week in 8 ball or 9 ball only Masters which didn't count for either which also meant I could not qualify for singles in 8 ball or 9 ball because I was not on one of those...

I have been breaking second ball in 8 for 40 years. It is all about reading the rack, and getting a solid hit on the second ball. If the 8 ball goes in that is gravy. For me, I break better this way, and have more chances getting a ball on the break.

Question, any insight as to why the tourney wasn't at Strokers this year? I had not heard of the venue change.

For those of us who install our own tips (without a lathe) how well do they cut with a razor knife?
