I sometimes wonder what the slow player sees when they're playing someone like myself, who plays fast. Do I blur around the edges? Or is it like the bullet-time stuff from The Matrix? Please be aware this is only when I'm playing well. The other times I'm just running around the table looking...

Totally agree with you there, Jay. As much as I love the way the game is played here that is the one thing I miss from back home in England. "Foul on all balls" makes things much clearer. Plus it tends to make players a little more aware of what they're doing while at the table.

As far as I see it, the event should be open to those who are looking to qualify. If a player has already made the cut they should not be involved. However the draw works out could keep a new name from making it to the bigger event. In 5 or 10 years time this could be the reason the womens...

Gotta agree with that one, great way to warm up & get yourself ready to go. A variation I add is to play shots of the same length but with a slight angle & put the CB tight against the head rail. I like to start out hitting the CB just hard enough to make the OB & leave the CB on the bottom...

I'm lucky enough to be able to switch off all ambient sounds while I play, unless I hear something seriously funny! Doesn't happen too often but when it does you just gotta enjoy it!

When I'm not playing pool, I go a little insane. Haven't played for 3 weeks now. Haven't even been on AZB much. Like I said, insane.

Well said WBM. I would like to see a HOF though, simply because the folks we've lost were such great members who meant so much to so many. I really do feel like we've lost The King today.

I'm absolutely gutted to hear this news today. My deepest condolences to Smorg's family & friends, and I bet there are 1000's of friends out there. Heaven got a whole lot funnier today.

I've realised I have a couple of new pet peeves. Ones that really bug me! 1. My back trouble is getting me down while playing pool. 2. Playing like a blind man in handcuffs the last few weeks has pushed me to the edge of insanity!!!! I know one of those can be changed. If only I could find...

I think a lot of it depends on the payout of the event & the cost of entry. If you make it a $5 tourney more people are likely to have a go & it's less likely that the A players will bother to show up. The place I play at used to run a Sunday night $5 8 ball tourney & it was a good night out...
