Short rail first - how do you play

How do you like to play short rail first shots, i.e. short, long, short, coming in under the ball after the third rail. Jaspers is a master of this. Do you like to keep the English close to straight top and modify your cut angle / ball fraction on the second ball? Or do you like to keep your...

Smaller Pockets Don’t Always Play Smaller … Dr. Dave Evaluates His New Rails and Pockets

No, not surprised. Smalling facing angles seem to always make a big difference.

3 things you would change about pool

The idea is that a yellow stripe has higher contrast against a black than it does against white. On low res video the cue ball, 1 ball, and 9 ball look similar. The background colors don’t affect game play, it just breaks tradition. However changing primary colors wasn’t as intelligent...

    I'm losing faith in UPS

Stay away from UPS. The CEO gutted the business. She’s a number cruncher. FedEX or DHL are my recommendations.

If the lag is a skill shot, there's a better way

The opening lag is supposed to be difficult enough that there is a clear winner by inspection. We don’t want to start creating arguments on who won a lag by a millimeter. When that happens the players lag one more time and there is never a second tie. A skill shot executed perfectly by two...

3 things you would change about pool

His online presence is annoying but he shouldn’t be banned. Also people’s personalities in real life don’t necessarily match online, so he may be a lot less grumpy in reality. You never know until you actually meet them.

    Billiard Industry needs

I have three or four good ideas left that would make sellable products, but the problem is right now not only am I with a four month old, but I am burned out from the DigiBall project. It was like as soon as I was completed with the final design, by brain turned off. I don't even want to turn a...

This is extremely difficult to do. You will need to make many functional prototypes and it will take a lot of time.

To the OP, the only idea that I find has any further thought would be the facial recognition system for scoring/*something* pending that permissions are given in advance. Be forewarned that many pool players that don't understand the technology will feel privacy violations.

Eh. .. I think FargoRate is just fine. It is simply a logarithmic scale, where each octave is 100 points, instead of 400 points like in chess. Any town that has trouble registering data in FR will have the same trouble with any other system. The advantage is that since FargoRate is established...

See www.digicue.net. Nevermind the knuckle draggers above... The first ones to rebuke ambition are those who haven't accomplished anything and are too uneducated to do so. Garczar, TCC et al. are well known trolls and miserable online presences. Put them on your ignore list. I love the...
