    Question(s) about Drills

Howdy everybody, I'm at a point in my pool career where I need to start doing drills. I visited home while my younger brother was on Winter Break and he clobbered me. Apparently he's practiced some drills and he's gotten better. So I'm looking to start doing drills now as well. My question...

Frozen Rail, and Slightly Off Rail Cut Shots

Hey fellas, I've been having a problem with frozen rail cut shots. A friend of mine suggested that I hit the rail first (like a mm before the OB) with inside English so the ball rolls nicely down the rail. I don't particularly like this method, so, I was wondering if anybody can offer other...

How Do I Improve My Stroke?

Stroke, I've heard the same thing said about triple shimmed pockets - I was explaining to my buddy Alex that it's probably harmful to <B rank players because you won't consistently make shots and that can hurt your confidence. But, I'm at least a B player (save for long shots...) Sent from my...

Best shot of my life... so far =P

and Pre-War I hit the bank full with a little left to shorten the angle because the natural line would've went too far so I had to hit it harder. if I remember correctly (was excited after the pot and she got mad rolled her cue on the table) - it ended up against the short rail.

Best shot of my life... so far =P

Well haha - when I looked through the balls I saw the bank going with a little left English applied. If it was a fraction of an inch to the left I might have been able to make it still - and if it was to the right I would not have been able to bank it so I probably would've kicked it and tried...

Best shot of my life... so far =P

Wasn't luck at all buddy - I extensively practice banks and kicks all the time and have a firm grasp of them and the confidence to bank almost any shot - save for the shots where you'll double kiss even with inside or outside English. I'm only at my SL because this is my very first league.

How Do I Improve My Stroke?

The pivot on the cue I use is actually around 6 3/4" which is my natural bridge length - unless I'm trying to up my power on a draw shot or something to that effect. Funny though - when I started playing with a team with a good friend of mine, his teammates who are all much more experienced...

How Do I Improve My Stroke?

Thanks Hang - So basically my stroke will work itself out then? Like if I consistently following through and end up with my tip on the right side of the straight line then practicing my stroke until it consistently follows that straight line will work out the kinks? EDIT: After watching my...

How Do I Improve My Stroke?

Hey guys, I was practicing at a local tourney with a buddy of mine last night on a triple shimmed pocket table where you had to hit pretty much the dead center of the pocket or be rejected out =P It's really a great way to see how solid your fundamentals are - so, for the most part when I...

    Hey Everybody - I'm New =)

For you guys who suggested the safety- this image is what you had in mind right? Thinning the 6 into the 8 tying it up? Also - I hardly think of safety play as a first resort and instead focus almost always on offense... do you think this is a matter mental focus?

    Hey Everybody - I'm New =)

For you guys who said bank cross corner that's what I did. I parallel shifted along the natural line from the cue ball to the 6, the 8 was partially in the way so I hit the CB with left English to impart some right onto the OB. For those who offered safes - I'll be the first to tell you... I'm...

    Hey Everybody - I'm New =)

Hey everybody - how's everything going? My friend from the BCA told me about this nifty little forum so I up and joined. I was in a match Monday and the following came up, I'm just curious to know what you guys would've done here: I'm shooting solids here, the 6 would not pass the 8 to the...
