Best shot of my life... so far =P

big deal lol she blew the safe and you made a one rail bank that by what you make your skill level out to be was more a guess then skill. It's nothing for her to get mad at..luck plays a part in pool.

Wasn't luck at all buddy - I extensively practice banks and kicks all the time and have a firm grasp of them and the confidence to bank almost any shot - save for the shots where you'll double kiss even with inside or outside English.

I'm only at my SL because this is my very first league.

nice shot... what would you have done if the eight had been a fraction of an inch to the left or right of its original position?

sometimes the stars align.

Well haha - when I looked through the balls I saw the bank going with a little left English applied.

If it was a fraction of an inch to the left I might have been able to make it still - and if it was to the right I would not have been able to bank it so I probably would've kicked it and tried to play safe.

and Pre-War

I hit the bank full with a little left to shorten the angle because the natural line would've went too far so I had to hit it harder.

if I remember correctly (was excited after the pot and she got mad rolled her cue on the table) - it ended up against the short rail.

For the record - I forgot my password for this account and used my older brother's who just recently joined - he's a BCA player out in Ohio now.

Just found my password in my phone again =P

Nice shot...but

Hey guys, I was in a match last night - race to 3 a piece, I won the first two games and was on the hill in the third game =P

Here's what happened. The woman I was playing decided to break her balls out here and play a safe simultaneously.

She hits them well and plays a beautiful safe that would stop most players, but in looking at the shot, she left just a hair of space between both of her balls (and I mean probably a mm space on either side of the CB).

She calls over an APA 7 to watch my shot making sure I don't clip one of her balls first - and I don't. I sink my bank and she storms off mad because a "player of my level shouldn't be able to do that."

Whatever haha - this is definitely one of the best shots I've ever taken.

When I clicked on this link, I figured that you jumped it..anyway,...
WHY ISNT ANYONE SURPRISED AT HOW THE BALLS ENDED UP?
CAN ANYONE FIGURE OUT ON THIS LAYOUT, HOW THE 2,3 and CB ENDED UP WHERE THEY DID? Looks to me like you'd have to go rail first with the cue ball, have the 3 bump the 2 out, and the cue ball roll between em, lol. Only problem is that the cue is already on the rail :-/
Other concept would be to hit the 3 down rail towards the corner pocket, cheating the corner to the short rail, to get some movement on the 2 from the 3, but the problem with that theory is that the 3 would travel 2 diamonds after hitting the 2 hard enough to move it that far with such a paper thin combo to the 2 ???

I know that the balls weren't probably sitting exactly as depicted, just busting balls trying to bring excitement to a simple bank shot thread...

AND ANOTHER THING, HOW DO YOU MISS THAT SAFE?!?, LOL

Nice job on the bank. That gives you confidence. You'll use that confidence to win again in the next tourney!

8 -

Good call - they did spread a bit differently, more of like a 30 degree angle between the two balls instead of this straight line-up but I couldn't draw it up like that to show the small mm angle between the two.

How could she be mad when you didn't even have to aim? You were forced to shoot perfectly straight in a forced direction.
