Riser for Cross-Slide or Tool Post ?

I have seen risers designed to increase the swing of a lathe. Typically a 1 inch center line riser for the dovetail style mini lathes. What do you do to raise the tool ? I am envisioning a 1 inch taller tool post or a riser block to mount on the cross-slide compound which would then have the...

Who is best to do a cue joint replacement.

That is a very difficult job. I did a job like that on a cue and it took forever to get everything just right again. You have the initial trouble with getting the old steel collar off and then you have to put a new pin back in the cue. And that has to be dead nuts centered and then whatever work...

Mach 3 global offset setting for parallelism?

I’m not a Mach3 user so maybe there is a better answer ... my immediate thought would be to either offset the tailstock or maybe buy one of these https://www.cuesmith.com/off-setting-live-center-for-cutting-tapers-3-8.html You could mechanically alter your alignment very easily with either...

Fixture to Hold/Index Cue in Small CNC

The centerline of the large bore headstock mounted on dovetail directly on the CNC bed is 2.5 inches. The overall height of the headstock jaws and assembly is around 4-4.25 depending on what you have in the jaws ... mine with a fully opened chuck is about 4.75 I also noticed that Todd has an...

Fixture to Hold/Index Cue in Small CNC

When I built mine I unscrewed the dovetail from the extrusion and mounted the dovetail directly to my CNC table surface. The headstock and tailstock still easily slide onto the dovetail mounted on the table. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fixture to Hold/Index Cue in Small CNC

I use a 48” dovetail bed with an indexing headstock that has a dead center in the chuck and a drilling tailstock chuck with a live center in it. I purchased all of my supplies at MidAmericaPool. http://www.midamericapool.com/parts---accessories.html This may be more than you are looking for to...
