    Anyone purchased from Precisiontip.com recently?

The tips are great - they install and shape easily and they play well, IMHO the best tip in this price range. I keep them in stock so I order a few times a year and they used to come very quickly. The last couple orders have taken longer, maybe a few weeks. It's probably a supply chain issue.

    9-Ball needs to be fixed

I must be a clown because I don't understand your confusion.

    9-Ball needs to be fixed

I agree this is the spirit of 8-ball, but historically there have been many times where making the 8 on the break wins and making the 8 on the break and scratching loses. I think this was driven by coin-operated bar tables where you could not retrieve a ball to spot it. I know CSI rules now have...

    9-Ball needs to be fixed

9-ball is my least favorite popular game. I enjoyed it more before Texas Express became the norm. If you are old enough, you will remember when it was the new variation and a lot of old timers then didn't like the changes. My point is the game continues to evolve and so be it. I have several...

Tell me why this is a foul in 9 ball, please.

Watch closely when the camera pans back after the stroke, you can see the 9-ball rocking in place.

What Is The Best Jump Cue?

The Pure-X J/B is four piece and is a great budget option.

What Is The Best Jump Cue?

I have historically agreed with you. Like most people I started out with a J/B but eventually moved to separate dedicated cues. This is the first one *for me* that performs both tasks equally well. And while $500 is not cheap, it is cheaper than either the BK Rush or the Air Rush, let alone both.

What Is The Best Jump Cue?

I have owned and used a bunch of jump cues. These are the highlights, all excellent and will serve you well: 1) Jacoby 2) Lomax 3) Hanshew 4) Air Rush I have hit some with a Propel which seems on par with the Air Rush. All that being said, I recently replaced both my BK Rush and Air Rush with...

Using Digital Pool to run pool tournaments

We used Challonge (.com) for years before Digital Pool for regular bracket tournaments. It worked pretty well most of the time although the website would get a little glitchy. We switched to Digital Pool mostly so we could report to Fargo and use SMS for player notification. I do think their...

Radial vs Uni-Loc: Is there really a big difference?

I had the same problem with both Uni-loc and Radial, just got into the habit of regularly tightening the joint. Not a problem at all with my Pechauer joint.

Using Digital Pool to run pool tournaments

I run regular standard tournaments with digital pool and overall I really like the product. We run two chip tournaments a week and have tried to use digital pool a couple times and I did not enjoy the experience - in both cases we ended up finishing on paper. I'm not knocking the software and am...

    TIPS TIPS TIPS

I have installed a couple Caiden tips for players, they seem to really like them. I will say as an installer they are very easy to cut and shape. One thing I don't understand about these tips with different colored layers near the bottom: are they different materials? Or are they intended as a...

My Observations From the Super Billiards Expo

I have been a loyal Predator user since I switched to low-deflection back in 2013. I started with a Z2 but it was too small - I have arthritis and greatly prefer a larger diameter so I switched to the 314-2. Eventually I had the 314-3 and Vantage before switching to CF with the REVO 12.9. A...

Class Move by Tyler Styer in Iowa, 10 Ball Showdown , against Justin Bergman

I can't speak to other rulesets but the CSI rules clearly define what they mean by "Obvious" to avoid any such confusion or arguments: It may seem a little ambiguous if the non-shooting player or referee accepts the shot, but the exceptions list explicitly considers these types of shots as...

Jump Break Tip that works good for both jobs

I'm a recent convert to the White Storm and have installed it for a couple other people as well. It's easily the best jump tip I've ever used.

    Keno board plans

It's been around a long time and is a fun gambling game. Lots of luck, but don't be fooled by the hustlers - there is definitely some skill involved. We had one in the room I worked in 35 years ago and we have a couple boards in our local pool room now but they aren't in great condition. I'm a...

I would learn how to do them by hand first. Here is a Dr Dave video about changing them by hand.

So many tips to choose from.

A few years ago I started using the lathe at the pool hall [not my own] to change tips. Mostly because I like to experiment and wanted a more economical way to change my own tips. Over time I started doing them for a few friends. Now I'm the go-to guy in our room to replace tips. That is all I...

    Hanshew jump cue

I would be very interested in a Hanshew CF jump cue, been wondering when they might try that market.
