Best Trick Shot Ever

Just watched Roman Hubler lose to Raj Hundal in the Qtrs of this year's World Pool Masters. Having been practically gifted the match by a careless Hundal foul, Hubler pulls off the best trick shot I've ever seen. With the 8 ball in the jaws of a pocket he blasts it in. It disappears completely from view then ½ a second later pops back up to it's original postion, where it sits spinning prettily. Hundal proceeds to take the next two to win. That's what you get for showing off.

Christ! I tried a stupid shot like that in 14.1, trying to send the cue at warpspeed into the pack.

"Watch this!" I told my friend. It missed the pack entirely, went straight into the corner pocket and popped right out to sit in the jaws of the pocket!

I had a fellow run out a game of 8 ball during league a few years back, and the same thing happened when he hammered the hanging 8 ball. The 8 ball jumped a foot (304.8mm) above the table on it's way back out of the pocket. He looked at it for a while, then moved away from the table. I ran out with only my balls and the 8 on the table. My opponent had left his chalk on the rail, and after I dropped the still hanging 8 ball (quite gently I might add) he laid his cue on the rail and swipped the chalk off the table about as hard as he hit the 8 ball. The chalk cleared two snooker tables lengthwise and exploded on the far wall :D

haha...

You should have heard the Semi-pros at Buffalo Billiards in Cotati CA about the pockets.... poor Billy Palmer was having a tough time keeping balls in the pockets, even on regular shots. The pockets at that hall are so bad, any shot has a chance to jump out of the pocket. This is caused by the lack of tightening the pocket bolts... on an Olhausen at least.
Watch yourself if you ever get into a one pocket game there... that last ball you cinched in your pocket can come out much easier than you think!

LOL, "Watch This!" are the famous LAST words of nearly every show off. If you ever hear yourself saying those words....STOP, THINK about what you are doing, it's probably not going to work out very good.:D

Too true! But I certainly did give my friend something amazing to see.

For me, the most impressive feat is to make a shot when there doesn't even appear to be one. Here's a rabbit that Tom Rossman pulled out of his hat in an exhibition. Playing eight ball, Rossman is faced with this position after making his last solid. Hence, he must play a shot on the eight, but there doesn't appear to be one, as the cue ball and eight ball are frozen to the rail and also frozen to each other.

I nearly flipped when he managed to pocket the eight in the side pocket a few inches up the same long rail. What he did was thin the eight and jump the cue ball over the twelve. Sure enough, the cue ball came back across the table just on time to knock the eight into the side for the win. A jump timing shot! Incredible!

Are you gonna go practice it now?

My new table does that. The back of the side pockets are angled slightly upwards. ALL shots into the side pockets will come back if hit with any force. I'm having this fixed when they put my Simonis on.
