Has your local pool hall (here in the US) opened back up yet?

Who cares what they say or if they lie. We always know what is going on all over the world. When China takes a sh!t we know what hand they wipe their a$$ with. To try to say we require them to tell us what we already know or should know is a weak excuse for lack of action and quite honestly an embarrassment to the rest of the world..

If true, then everything that is believed about the US to the world is little more then a lie and fake persona. We are just weak phonies. I don't believe that and neither do you.

Uh, what are you talking about? Did I mention China in my post?

I was making a point. You mentioned the WHO. And my point is we don't depend on others for what we think. Trump is just using them as an excuse for his own inaction.

Having made that point, you should know that members of the CDC were working with the WHO doing a rotation and were reporting on the outbreak. They were reporting to the White house, ready for this, in December of 2019. Trump is just delusional.

Show the proof where the CDC was sounding the alarm in December. You can't, because it did not happen. You had the WHO saying that there was nothing to worry about back in December and through most if not all of January. You had our own medical community saying that it was going to be like a bad flu and we would be able to handle it. I was following several doctors on social media that changed their tune on that only after they started seeing the severe cases in their ER's and ICU departments. When Trump did enact the travel ban on Chinese nationals, the MSM and the healthcare community cried foul and said that it was unnecessary and that he was overreacting and that it was based on racism. You are a fool to trust the WHO or any other international bureaucratic organization. People need to wake up...those at the top who run the show and who feed the pockets of the politicians don't care about us and those that are fed from that trough will do whatever they have to to keep the gravy train flowing.

Time will tell. It is very apparent that it was intentional. Perhaps the outbreak was not intentional but the harvesting of these viruses by the Chinese Communist Party's P4 lab and the research on these viruses, including modifications to the genome of the viruses was intentional...for nefarious purposes or not. We have also learned that the Chinese Communist Party vacuumed up all of the medical PPE across the globe and nationalized manufacturing plants owned by U.S. and other foreign companies in China that produced said PPE after they could not contain the virus in their country. That is why by February 1st you could not buy a surgical mask anywhere (online or retail outlet) and medical N95 masks were gone too. The CCP restricted export of these items outside of mainland China and China accounts for probably 80% of the supply of these items. They setup the world for failure in addressing the outbreak and resulting pandemic and flat out lied about the severity and human-to-human transmission until they could not hide it any longer. This is what you get every time with communism. Now socialist everywhere (even those in our own country) have been given power and control that they will not soon let go of (Michigan Gov for example). There is a huge push ongoing for tracking of individuals based on infection/immunity. You need to dig a bit deeper before you start "Orange man bad".

Here it is:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...1c77fa-818c-11ea-9040-68981f488eed_story.html

So even though the WHO may have not provided accurate information early on, we still had people detailed there who would have known more than the official story.

All that aside, it still begs the question - when we saw early on how bad things were trending, why did it take so long to act, and why are we still not doing more? The quicker we ramp up capabilities for testing and tracing, the quicker we can get back to "normal", whatever that will be...

What about the dance needed to manage the release of information?

There's a fine line between chasing windmills and putting your head in the sand.

Notice about the matter in general and response has to be managed and even disregarding any medical/scientific details, it is a highly complex matter.

Now factor in the public's desire to know it all NOW.

Divide all that by a double factor of yet to be determined...and it gets just a little messy.

So no. Pool halls in my area remain closed.

Well if say my local Community Room opened, or say Metro Sports Bar Opens because the Governor said it OK in both cases.

I off to play pool.

The what if crowd could be killed by shoppers runnig over then, in a stampede at Wal-Mart, where they heard on the PA System, "Toilet Paper in Stock NOW".

It's going to take awhile even after opening to get people back into social places. I think people are going to be more aware of distancing and some of these places that may have sanitation issues such as a pool hall or bowling alley or even your local dive bar.

Another asenine observation. You expect any reader is going to agree getting dead from a toilet paper stampede is as big a risk as dying from COVID-19?

What we need is a quick response to this. So quick that the infection rate falls back to 0 and the virus is eradicated.

But no. some moron hasnt played pool in a couple months.

You do realize there are likely to be a few rounds of increased infection rates that move around the country, right?

Tough it out. For yourself and for the world.

That guy is fkng out there. Sorry buts its true. WTF??? Totally agree with you. There's also a REALLY good chance of a fall/winter flare-up of covid. Sad FACT is poolrooms are going to be a no-go zone for some time. Not worth the risk. At least not to me.

I wonder if hourly rates will go down once business resumes.
Why would you think that? Are their bills and vendor payments going to go down? I don't see why you would re-open just to lose money. Sad fact here is that places that pay big rent $$ may be done. Guys that own their own building will have a better chance of making it. That leaves a lot of places that will have some tough decisions to make. I just don't see the logic of opening knowing you're going to lose money.

Don't wonder wait, and see. Then you will know 110% for sure.

Sharp business owner will run creative promotions, to bring customer back.

Ladies Play FREE, and the guy will show up.

$1,200bux average check. Think people are gonna use that on pool?

Yes....you should hear the idiotic things I hear people such as my friend and his co-workers are tempting to spend their money on.

Some people are getting a lot more money.

Must be nice to live in fantasy land. Until people know that they're not going to get sick by coming in poolrooms are not going to make it. So called" creative promotions" aren't going to change this. Even without covid a lot of rooms had trouble staying alive. It will be worse in the coming months. Why would anyone roll dice with their health just to play pool?

Ow.

I think a whole lotta people are needing another 0 or 2 at the end of that, sadly.

Along with some sort of control to ensure it is spent on needs, not wants.

$1,200 is just the right amount for one to determine it isnt going to keep him from brokealoo junction for more than a month anyway, so why not burn it on luxury/ distraction?
