The tonny carlsen 19 run on day 1 was a record
From berts billiard page
Tonny Carlsen equaled a world record today, when he ran 19 against J.J. Garcia. That can't be right, you say? Isn't the world record high run 28? Yes, it is.
The UMB recognizes world records in four different formats:
- Made in a World Championship
- Made in a World Cup
- Made in a Scotch Double
- Made in any other sanctioned, refereed event.
In all formats, there is of course a high run (and a best match, and a tournament average). The high run in a World Championship was 19, by Sameh Sidhom (Bordeaux 2015). Tonny and Sameh now share that record.
By the way: the Scotch double high run record is 20 (Caudron & Forthomme). The World Cup high run record is 24 (Jérémy Bury). The high run record in other events, including league play is 28 (Komori, Ceulemans, Forthomme, Caudron).
