Tony Chohan was doing some commentary yesterday afternoon at the Don Coates Memorial event. He was asked why he wasn't going to play in the US Open One-Pocket event. He seemed to indicate that it was purely a financial decision -- that his expenses would be high versus no guarantee of what the added money or prizes will be. He felt that if the event guaranteed the added money and first-place prize, rather than having them "based on full field," that the field would fill. [He didn't mention the promoter's risk in that situation.]

CSI has been saying the added money will be paid in full regardless of the number of entries.Maybe if Tony (who has my number) and others should have asked CSI what we were planning.

In all honesty, we felt this was a 'good deal' for the players because of the proximity to SBE and good hotel deals etc. located near the host room. However, if the players are not going to support this type of event, then please don't complain if CSI doesn't do very many of them.
