A buddy of mine is currently spec-ing out, and building a very high end/dollar AR platform rifle. Even to the point of spending the thousands for a single focal plane optic.
The argument is that he doesn't have the rounds/time down range to be able to account for the upgrades. Not even close. We've been bluntly honest with him that an assembled $499 AR would still out perform his abilities. He needs to spend the thousands on range time and ammo.
