screwing up break-balls stops my runs more frequently than any other single factor.
what is your most common run-stopper?
for the time being this is my worst enemy too. Sometimes I'm shy of shooting because I'm in doubt about my percentage of making a shot. And if I have to play a shot 7-8 feet away from cb I rely more on feel and luck rather than good aim. As I start to produce consistent runs I might meet other run stoppers on the way, don't know.I lose my ability as a shotmaker
Eric, I think any run in 1P qualifies for straight pool You can count it as 12 in 14.1i'm the only player in the world who has a higher run in one pocket than 14.1. I ran 12 playing one pocket and 8's my best playing 14.1.
yes, practice those shots at different angles. If the angle is too severe normally you can open the stack with a pocket speed stroke. I suggest you place a cb from 1 to 2 balls width to the side of parallel and shoot those cut shots firm without other balls racked, until you get a proper impression of how the cut feels. Then try placing a rack and proceed.backward cut shots on the break shot
My biggest run stopper is located on top of my shoulders in between my ears.

I too am not a fan of long shots which sometimes kill my run, but it's really the backward cut shots on the break shot that do me in. I find myself either preserving or manufacturing a good break ball almost every rack, but if I'm just a little less than parallel with the side rail my confidence and ability decline considerably. I'll even practice those backward cuts before I start recording my progress. I'm definitely more successful if I take a little speed off of the shot. Any suggestions are appreciated.
