I have a cue 3/16 x 18 piloted joint and getting a shaft that is 3/16 x 18 flat faced joint, Does anyone know if this will work ? or wil there be any problems with it?

Yes , you can put flat shaft on piloted butt , but not the other way . Jim
You should be fine..and i am sure you meant 5/16-18..SA
When I install an insert, if it isn't going into a piloted butt, I face the insert off. If you had a piloted shaft, you could have it faced off. That is unless it
was from an expensive cue and you wanted to keep it original.
