Hello, Bernie. :)

Your amazing gesture with those fabulous Joe Camels earlier this year (post 785) really spurred me on to search for more rare, beautiful and historically important pool ball sets.

Thank you again, dear chap.

Have a Merry Christmas!

Did you say shrubberies?

Hello, Buster. :)

Yes, of course. I do unearth a few numberless Raschig sets (or R9s as us collectors call them) during my frequent treasure hunts and will certainly keep a look out for you, sir.

Are you seeking an absolutely pristine, unused set in original box for display only?

Best wishes,
RC.

PM sent as to not muddle up the thread.

Hello, TCC. :)

Thank you for sharing those pictures, sir. That gentleman from Belarus sure is a talented sculptor, it's so lifelike. I wonder if he has created any larger works of art?

Best wishes,
RC.

Someone literally just plunked this set down in front of me lol. The set is complete but not in original box. The logos seem to be decals with small wear at some of them

Good afternoon, 1pocket. :)

Rare Raschig Balls.

Good evening, everyone. :)

Here are a few improved (slightly) photographs of my recent Raschig discoveries, as promised.

First, a couple images of the Raschig One Pocket set. I couldn't resist the temptation to include a spare Bumblebee to make a full box of sixteen.

And last, but certainly not least, two pictures of the incredible Raschig Four Player balls. Joining the iconic Bumblebees we now have Ladybugs, Bluebottles and Grasshoppers. :)

Hello Rubik’s!

Wow

I’m nearly speechless. Simply a find of a lifetime. Flawless and unplayed.

Some of the rarest of the rare I believe and never revealed anywhere that I can find, sir.

This recent discovery and acquisition of yours, Rubik’s, will certainly be one of the most unique and greatest contributions to the pool ball collecting thread yet - and of special interest to every Raschig collector around the world.

Has anyone ever heard of or seen such sets from Raschig? Some sleuthing is in order I believe to uncover more details on these “lost sets” from Raschig along with their pamphlets and game rules since the few Raschig collectors around the globe that I know of haven’t seen or heard of them either.

4-Player and 1-Pocket Raschig sets.

Absolutely amazing.

~ K.

Very cool indeed and I would love to see the directions for game play. Each set is a full 16 balls with no cue ball. How do you rack? BYOCB (Bring Your Own Cue Ball)?

Good morning, gentlemen. :)

Mr K. Thank you for those kind words of encouragement, dear fellow. As you know, I was truly thrilled to make such an amazing discovery and share your enthusiasm to learn more of their provenance. The (now sadly deleted) video marking Raschig's 125th anniversary did tempt us with a few glimpses of mysterious curios as yet unknown by us collectors. That beautiful striped 8 Ball comes to mind for starters. Alas, the current Raschig management seem to have no interest whatsoever in their company's illustrious history as a billiard ball manufacturer, but I plan to contact them once more with photographs of my recent purchases just in case. :)

Mr R. The One Pocket set did feature a cueball, sir. I don't know why but I just couldn't resist the temptation to make up a full set of Bumblebees. The Four Player set was indeed missing a white as you say, although there was a picture of one present on the brochure cover. It's such a shame that the internal pages of both leaflets have been lost, just the tell-tale staple holes remain.

Best wishes to you both. :)
RC.

Hello, everyone. :)

Here are three interesting examples from an Australian company called Swift Lyte. They're all listed as genuine, but I harbour a suspicion that they might be Chinese imports. I still like them nonetheless.

Best wishes,
RC.

1,000 post index update.

Post number 1,000 reserved for index update. I'm working on it, ladies and gentleman, and will upload as soon as possible.

I would also like to take this opportunity to offer my sincere thanks to everyone who has made this thread so interesting, entertaining and informative. It has always been such a pleasure to share pictures and stories with you all. I must make a special mention to K2Kraze, whose contributions not only number over a third of the thread's entire total, the time and effort he puts into every single one is extraordinary.

And also, Mr Bond. A gentleman and a scholar who is very sadly missed.

Best wishes,
RC.
