Been a while since I've lived there so things may have changed...

EO's in west valley city (suburb of SLC) is a good hall

The Ritz in the AMF lanes in SLC is another that comes to mind

(Both of the above mentioned are where they filmed pool hall junkies)

A little further north there is Crown billiards in Clearfield, Ut.

There were a couple more but I think they went under...

Cushion and Cue comes to mind but I'm 90% they closed their doors.

There was a small room called "Pool hall junkies" in downtown SLC but I think they either renamed or possibly even closed the doors...they had mostly BB's but had a single 9' gold crown 3...

SLC Pool Scene

Bad news... the 9ft tables have more or less been run out of town here.

The "POOL HALLS" have all been shut down.
EO's - last to close.
Ritz - gone
PG Pool Hall - (Pleasant Grove) - gone
Shooters break Room - gone
Tracy's pool hall - gone
Hy & Mikes pool hall - gone
Cushion & Cue - Gone

**DELTON LANES - West Valley City has a few 9ft tables still

Non-9ft tables (bars) that i recommend with some Diamond tables(*):
*Big Willies (formerly batters up)
*The Hideout
Johnnys on 2nd (formerly Poolhall Junkies) is more of a dive now.
*Stockmans's (layton)
*Crown billiards (layton)
*D&R spirits (Ogden)
West Valley Billiards (only open 3 days a week Thurs-Sat) more of a dive also.

WE NEED NEW ROOMS HERE!!

Here is an interesting thread related to SLC, from a while back!....

Side note;..If you ever spent any time in SLC, you would think they drowned all the homely girls at birth!..More beautiful women there, per capita, than anyplace I have ever been! (and I've been everywhere!)

Thanks for the link! The Peter Pan Room was before my time by quite a ways...some of the old timers on the golf table at the room I hung out at would speak of it from time to time.

I was one of the owners of poolhall junkies back in the day, we had two 9 footers and a bunch of bar boxes. 15 years ago, crazy how time flies.

Cushion and Cue is out of business, same with EO's, Ritz is gone too... we used to have a place here called Ya Butts (or spankys depending on the year) that was downtown and a good place to play, that's gone too :/. I've never been up to Ace Browns place, i'll have to swing up there to catch a real game on a 9 footer I suppose. The only place I know of that has gold crowns or equivelant left in all of salt lake county is the bowling alley in west valley mentioned earlier in the thread. Sucks the game is so run down here now :/.

Big Willies (formerly batters up) is really the best place in town for pool now even though they got rid of the one big table they had, there are a pretty good handful of quality players that go in there and kick around the golf table etc etc. Bar boxes are all diamonds in good shape.

I bought one of the gold crowns from EO's, the guy still has around 7-8 more of them I think if anyone is looking for one.

Those referencing the pretty women here, I'd have to say I agree having lived a few other places along the way to compare with.
