This was my everyday player for almost a yr while we were desging the great white. I had just quit playing for areil carmeli, and mike picked me up im also i high end cue collector so i had of cues to choose from ha. after this ill post cue areil built me as his player well set. This at the time was andy giblerts fanciest cue only by a little he said his wifes cue was super close this is a show cue played ok because russ espiritu yold me one time that when u build a show cue u not really that worried about weight or balance. Because it will prolly never get chalked. So when u have one built like i did everything comes into play balance weight etc.But wanted to get the feel of a ivory handle player.

ivory buttsleeved matching set

Areil built me This back in 2010 i played for him for 2 yrs, Also at same time i was playing for mike aswell. Mike was my JB sponser and areil my plaing cue sponser. On both cues all white is ivory even joint and butt caps. Both cues have elephant wraps. The last pic is of my AC set because when we strated the build at the time he was my full sponser. So i had 2 matching break cues, only thing diff about break is one its a break cue not a JB, only thing diff from player and break is about 2 months into the build i got his sliver 10th annversery cue alsoits was 1 of 3 withe sliver venners with a TON of sliver and being, i was playing for mike also and he had built me a monster a ivory butt sleeved mathing JB so i had him do ame style of tiffaney diamonds out of abalone that was in sliver cue.

Heres 10th annversry sliver one. The only reason matching break cue has abalone instead of sliver is areil got mixed up on which one i had there's 3 just like mine but instead of sliver inlays they both have all abalone inalays, only deff between them is one has sliver venners. i use to alternate between this and one he built for me as his player.

Last but not least monster Rb

i used this as my dialy player for 8 months while carmeli was being built. This cue is unreal in person has afzilla burl forearm, it is the nicest piece i have ever seen. It played great and i train 8 hrs a day 10 few days before a tournament. So i have put alot of time in with all these cues and they at one time or another have been my daily players. I have sold or traded everyone of these except the ivory handle gulyassy thats my daily player now and will be my lifetime player even when i have mike build a bigger cue. One really unusal thing about this ivory crown is it has ivory every thing and like 4 oz shafts and weighs 18.3 thats wild for a ivory butt sleeveed cue. everything white on its ivory played pretty good. Only reason i have got rid of wrapped cues is im redoing my collection to only wrapless cues. Im 27 so i got many more years to rebuild with the wrapless cues i want. The engavings in this cue are awesome. Im done lets your monster playing cue or monsters u have used as playing cues in past, type cue most ppl lock away in a safe and never chalk.

Well I have tried about 70 or 80 cues over the past 4 years including Searing, Scruggs, BB, Southwest, Bluegrass, Sugartree, Mottey, Vollmer, JMW etc... And the Mobley just beats the lot of them. Whether it is the particular joint config that suits me, I don't know, but I have 2 more coming with the same joint, and the Murrell and Tasc I have ordered are also going to be with steel lined ivory.

Hit is really solid, feedback is great, moving the cueball is pretty effortless. Just wish i was a better player and could REALLY appreciate it LOL

The one cue that plays at least as well is the monster Black Boar I am selling, but it is a cue that I will not take to the pool hall. Just too big, fancy and expensive... So basically would suit this thread if I played with it ;)

grantstru i have owned 93 cues thats including cheap ones i started out with. i have owned 81 customs and have tried well over 100. I made a list a long timee ago of ever top cue marker that i wanted to own or try there cues, i wanted to try them all and being a pro even when i was 14 i could PLAY. only a little over a handful left and im not saying this because i am his player mike gulyassy makes the best playing cue out there then COG,Arthur Q,and josey ,thats there order of how well each plays from MG being the best to josey 4th. Thats my opinon but being a high end custom cue and case collector i can play with a high end of my choice, and i picked the best i even said before mike picked me up i liked his best.

I have used Arthur and Josey, I had a real nice Josey full splice, 4 point, 5 veneer ebony into ebony, but it came with 2 predator shafts which kinda killed it for me... I would love to have seen what that played like with some nice old growth shafts.

I have had 4 Arthur cues and only one played well, the other three felt dead. I have a real problem with their build quality, not from an aesthetic point of view, Marcus' inlays are amazing, and he is an artist, but from a playability perspective.

If I was ranking my cues, then I would say:

Mobley & Black Boar
then Vollmer
Then Southwest, Sugartree, Bluegrass and a Showman Titleist (rather similar to Poolrod's :)

I would like to get on the Mobley list also. The Showman plays picture perfect. It plays as good as my Black Boar, Gina, Schick. If you ever get a chance, hit some with a Showman.

I remember when 54 was A LOT of points...

Here's my beautiful Keith Kue. 54 points, ebony and tulip wood, finished the same day my son was born. This thing has some serious use and a couple battle scars. For the most part I play, break, and jump with her. GREAT cue!
