The Travesty Break Cue 2K16! **Ugly cue warning**

As all of you shoot and break with amazing cues, how about we give a little time for the ugly.

Previously on AZ Billiards, I made a ghetto break cue from an abused and rescued work game room cue and a carl's cue break shaft. It was hot garbage. Here's the story of the Travesty 2K12.

Fast forward 4 years. I took two years off pool, and I'm thinking about making a return. At first I was going to break with my player, but the thought of flattening the tip more (along with a cracked ferrule scare) made me seek out another break cue. I like to break hard with shaft flex because that's my mating call to the wild.... and Color of Money made me do it.

Anyway, background on this cue. It's one of those cheap action cues that looks like it's covered in neon love stains:

At work, someone popped off the tip and put a huge gouge in the shaft with some missed-shot anger slamming. The rubber bumper was almost completely gone and the shaft looked like a doggie chew toy.

Deciding that people at work were no longer worthy of this thunder stick, I took it and repaired it with heavy sanding and glued on a shitty lepro. Had one of those tweeten repair kits. I decided to keep it around as the "casual player" loaner cue and break cue....and it failed at both. The tip finally popped off this weekend due to flashy breaks and sh*t talking.

Calling on the services of one Gil Castillo again (who transformed my cuetec into a sweet breaker...before i sold it), he put a black phenolic ferrule/tip combo and sanded the shaft a bit more.

Unlike the previous Travesty, this one broke pretty damn good for what it was. Surprisingly seeing that the shaft is whippy. It broke as good as any J and J I had. Of course not as good as my old Power Break but a good second or 3rd place in terms of break cues I've owned. Waay better than that fury j/b with the carbon fiber tip. But now that we have the performance out of the way, let's bring you guys what you wanted to see: and Ugly cue modification.

Long story short: someone suggested using black duct tape wrap for the Travesty 2K12....so I took that ball and ran it out of stadium. Black duct tape on EVERYTHING

My dog decided to model next to the stick...maybe he felt a kindred attraction as they are both black colored beasts.

The Cheese stands alone:

Close up of the "wrap" - layers upon layers of black duct tape to protect my hand from it's awesome breaking powers.

Closeup of the forearm...already got rid of that hunk of tape by the joint because the beast refuses to be muzzled:

My playing setup now:
Mike Bender Sneaky Pete, The Travesty 2K16, JB Rugged 2x3, Wise Owl Ornament to provide witty comebacks

Now why would i have a bender sneaky but a shitty break cue? Because:

.....also because i honestly don't want to spend the break cue money at the level i play.
