This was a FABULOUS TOURNAMENT in so many ways ,,,,however .... This racking BS HAS GOT TO STOP! I like rack your own and if the other player doesn't like the rack he can call over a referee who can at his option call a loss of game on either player for their part in racking or complaining. A few loss of game calls and the BS will quickly come to an end. This would only require a few scattered referees and not one per table as I can understand what a cost burden that can imply.
At the very least someone needs to organize an on line symposium and take in lots and lots of input and ideas on how this racking thing could be solved and then all the players and all of the sponsors and all of the regular commentators and a random selection of on line viewers can then cast their vote as to what would be the best solution. But SERIOUSLY this needs to come to an end .... it just gets WORSE EVERY TOURNAMENT. If the players can't figure out how to stop the madness then I might suggest hiring a referee for each table that officiates the game and does all the racking with the players NOT allowed call for a re rack....just look it over. The costs of hiring referees should then be deducted from the players winnings. If he/she has no winnings in a particular tournament then he/she could be charged a flat fee. Come on everyone ....we are a great sports community and I know we can find an equitable solution !! Your input on my comments are encouraged ...especially if you offer solutions .... not just more rhetoric

Thank You ALL!
I will offer up a really simple solution to the racking of 9 ball games as it seems to be the most contentious

Furnish each able with one of those racks that are shaped like the 9 ball configuration, put the rack on the table so as the 1 ball will end up on the spot, fill in the remainder of the balls in the appointed space, lift the rack away from the balls, and MOST IMPORTANTLY ,,,the balls are NOT to be touched again before breaking off

Seems oh so simple and effective to me LOL. NO....it won't result in a perfect rack every time but the randomness of racking will be equal essentially for both players. Who else thinks this has merit ? thanks all for your interest and input into this Game we ALL LOVE. Pool players and their fans are some of the most passionate and best on the Planet in my opinion.

Now ..... "Let's play some pool Fast Eddie" LOL
