You're welcome as always David!

I'm confused. Is this some sort of knockout tournament or are these just individual matches for points in some sort of competition or are they just individual matches?

Indeed ..... wowzers!

We are having a discussion on whether the 3-10 combo/ safe was intentional:
thoughts?

1:07 is the start of one of the best exchanges i have ever seen...and yes, you will note Bata scratches 2x, but the cb is scared to;)

the 3/10 combo we are debating is @ 1:35:30. i still say he lucked into it. ive never been aware of any fist-pumping from him, resulting from an intentional shot.

Thanks for the links Bob. Wasn't up that early this morning but had a chance to watch it on the Ustream link in your first post. The match was archived in the video section.

Efren lived up to his nickname!

This was the best Efren match I've watched in recent times. He made several extraordinary shots and position plays. He did get lucky a few times, especially when Wu scratched 3 times and Efren looked like he was going to scratch a couple of times and the cue ball hung in the jaws of the pocket. But as they say the better you play, the luckier you get.

I thought Efren needed some teeth.

Never mind (deleted my original reply, of course they played call-shot), watched said combo again - the one he misses at the end of the match? Of course he may have had a safe leave in mind in case he misses (I would…), but that's not fist-pumping, he's genuinely being playful there, teasing the audience and cheering himself up, because he knows he should have staid down on the shot and got at least partially lucky. I've seen him live earlier this year, and the way he's consistently jumping up from shots says a lot about his confidence level (especially on long shots) - even if he's still playing great by mere mortals' standards, apparently no longer by his own, and it seems he's putting even more pressure on himself as a result of it. That jumping up from shots may be well due to problems with his vision (again…) or nerves, or both - not unusual at all given his age I dare say. I'm happy to watch him regardless, he comes up with unique solutions and super shots, there's so much to see and learn. And this was by no means a bad match by any standards, rather one of the finest and most entertaining I've seen of his more recent ones.

Greetings from Switzerland, David.
