As classic and vintage of a player as it gets. The cue is circa 1974-1975 and is in fantastic / seasoned condition. The cue shows the wear of a player thats over 40 years old but not the slightest amount of abuse. Perfect patina on the butt and shafts. Ive had the cue for some years and never planned on selling it. Other ventures now call and this is the last cue I own that will be for sale. Per the original owner, the cue was purchased in 1975 about 6 months old and was originally singed on the joint face. After some work by Bill Stroud the cue came back with no signature when the joint was repaired around 1980. Also around that time Gus made two of the three shafts. The joint, Hoppe ring and all three ferrules are ivory. There is some really cool history behind this cue. The points are ebony into tiger maple and the veneers are natural/black/green/black.

Butt - 15.9 oz 29.5 inches 3/8x10 flat faced joint / cortland wrap thats super smooth
Shaft - 3.85 oz 12.3 mm 29.5inch
Gus Shaft - 3.8 oz 13.5 mm 29.5 inch
Gus Shaft - 3.8 oz 12.7 mm 29 inch
$3095

If anyone has a nicer one with this history thats cheaper let me know and ill pay cash for it. Also, I had a lot of people asking about the Gus shafts when the cue was in the gallery but not for sale at the time. I will absolutely sell one or both but they’re $500 each. Trades are not out of the question but must be a SW, Searing, Tasc...etc. I dont mind keeping it another 40 years :thumbup2:

I lived in Canton, Ohio in the mid 1970s, moved away in 1976. I played regularly with a classy gentleman named Rocco Moecia,
who owned a JW Hoppe cue almost identical to this one. Maybe identical. I remember it had green in the veneers as well.
A memorable cue, and I’ve owned a lot of them.
Bill Stroud would remember Rocco, Fred Martin and the rest from the College Bowl.

I hope you don’t regret the sale, this one is very special.
