Why is there so many 9 ball tours, but no one pocket tours. And if there is any one pocket tours can someone please tell me where they are. Thank you

It's simply a numbers game. Sponsors like head count.

One pocket is usually a secondary event leading into a 9 or 10 ball main tourney if a promoter wishes to stage an 1p event starting a day or two earlier than the main event.

For example, the 9 ball event attracts 128 players and the one pocket prelim may attract 16 to 32 players.

Its just demand

No one goes to Chess tournaments. I Love One Pocket, but I understand why its not main stream, its takes to much knowledge of the game to follow it.

Just like Chess once you have enough knowledge to understand why something in the game just happened and why and what the next move is or is likely to be, you are engaged and entertained.

In order to get to that level you really have to play or at least commit to the event, that's asking to much of the general public, most of them are checker players.

For the same reason you don't see a chain of Liver and Haggis Huts. Not much demand.

I can see a one pocket tournament, but not a tour. Heck, most of the pros list 1 pocket as their least favorite game if you listen to the CSI interviews they just did.

Actually, technically I would not see a one pocket tournament, don't like playing it, don't like watching it. I think the only game I would rank behind one pocket for me is banks. And you probably won't see a bank pool tour either.

The main reason is the house men, tournament directors, or tour directors suck at one pocket and get good chances at 9 or 10 ball games.

One pocket is experience game, and house men and tournament & tour directors cannot tell these experienced good players not to participate; therefore end up not having one pocket tournament, handicapping one pocket tournaments is a joke, it does not work..

Took the words right out of my mouth. You not only have to have skills but brains playing one pocket. People dont like to use or tax all portions of their brains.
Its easier for them to have the balls tell you what to shoot as the requirements of rotation does.
One pocket takes into account strategy, opponents weakness and strength, banks, safeties, etc.
Its like the only kid who doesnt think drinking and smoking is not really that cool. Slowly the world is waking up to that fact.

Please direct us to the 9-ball tour. There are scattered events but nothing approaching a bonfide tour.

And yes, one-pocket players need to be in bed by 8 PM, so they can "sleep on it" and be back at the pool hall by 10 AM to take their second shot.

That is a perfect assesment, and great answer. I agree .but i still think there should be more events to get people interested.
