Wow, very interesting , I'll have to think about the options for this one.

Thanks everyone.

Ok , so . . .

What's the move now ? You got ball in hand at the string and 2 on the spot needing one. Is there a standad lockup out ?

The standard volley in this situation -- with you needing needing one and unless you're playing a monster completely out of your weight class and are scared to death that he's going to beat you from anywhere and you're concerned that is may be your very lastest shot for the cheese) is:

I agree that this is the more conventional shot, especially if you only need one. Jay suggested this on an earlier post. I try to get the three balls in line so that they can't see the farther ball, this really limits their options and you might wind up with an offensive shot yourself. Like in your diagram I would hit for the three ball to travel about half that distance.

P.S. to Jay, I never tried the thin hit on the first ball then hit the second ball to take the cue ball up table until you suggested that option. I found it a bit risky but maybe I just need to practice it a bit more.

Well for me , it seems like Jays option is the safer overall bet. After a few fine tune attempts , I can leave a pretty safe table with some margin for error. It also gives more CB control options depending on what else is left on the table.

The full length bank and force shot is REALLY pretty when you pull it off , but I can only make it 1 in 5 maybe and it leaves too wide a variety of tables when you miss.

And the 1p.org site is very cool.

Thanks a bunch to everyone. :)
