One year ago Jayson Shaw playing 14.1 shocked the World by surpassing Willie Mosconi's BCA high run of 526 and ran 714 balls in a row.In just 5 days & 121 attempts. Just 2 months ago Jayson followed it up with a 508. Jayson is on a quest to run 1,000 and is gonna continue until he does it. Congrats to Mr.714 and this could be the year he shocks the World again.

Why not just congratulate Jayson, on the specifics of the 714 ball run, without the
rather, unnecessarily, audacious, sidestep on Mosconi526 on an oversized 4’x8’, 46”x92” playing surface pocket pool table.
Two totally different circumstances of hi-runs, that have absolutely no interconnection, one to the other.
There exists qualifying oversized 4’x8’ pocket pool tables out there, grab one and have at it, if you must obliterate the Mosconi526 exhibition hi-run record.
Oh, and by the way, it’s a one attempt deal, so whenever you’re ready, please let us know beforehand and not afterwards.
Thank you very much.
There still are no set equipment specs for a 14.1 exhibition run.
Therefore it is appropriate to mention previous records.

Now, do mind not derailing the thread..

You can always go back to the 626.... oh wait, nevermind. That is locked.

Maybe start your own threads talking about the future of 14.1 high runs and your picks for which players might get passed 500 balls one day.
Try and be productive on here for once.

Time flies my friend.

Hopefully he gets in 5 or more attempts this year.
It’s crazy how fast that went by. I’d have bet everything it was 6 months ago. Wow,

It’s fun to see big runs. I don’t care what equipment specs are. Anyone can go build a table how they see fit and run more- if it’s so easy. -crickets-

I hope he runs 1000 next time

Fatboy 😃😃

They exist now. Not as tight as some might want, but they exist. Here's the start....

Good, long overdue and should have been done years ago.

This doesn't validate anything xradarx is getting upset about, the rules didn't exist in the past.
But, he will continue babbling on regardless.

@wrldpro
I assume you have seen these now?
No issues with your table?
Obviously avoiding more drama around new records is highly desirable.

I think the BCA was caught entirely by surprise when the first JS turned in his 626. The common belief was that 526 was unassailable in the current pool situation. And the next JS record was perhaps even more unexpected. The other issue is that the BCA has not had to deal much with records for quite a while -- there is currently no BCA Rules and Records committee.

I can understand that to a point.
I also thought Mosconi record would not fall.
Just because 14.1 had died off, not due to current skill of players.

But, afte Schmidt came along. They had a lot of time after that to catchup.
Then they wouldn’t have been caught out when Jayson came along.

Anyway, small gripe aside it is moving in the right direction.
For this forum, let's hope we don't see anymore 300 page mega threads arguing endlessly.
