10 Ball Ghost tournament!

I was gonna give Dennis a vote as well, but look at the op's post, he stated Americans only ;)

Oh, sorry I missed that part

Shane would be favored against everybody in the US. Rodney Morris would probably do quite well too. Corey Deuel would do damage in such a format as well.

Mike Dechaine, second highest American finisher at both the Derby City 9-ball (6th) and the US Open 9-ball (4th), would be the main threat to Shane. Of course, Shane would be expected to win this hypothetical event if it were restricted to Americans. However, Mike has the hardest break of today's American crop, and when playing the ghost, spreading the balls well is the key. Shane's specialty is playing shape off the break, but that skill is not important against the ghost.

I know Mike Breaks great.. but I don't think that is the main factor playing the ghost… if you watch even the matches on AZ with Efren and Dennis playing the ghost.. they are both breaking fairly soft… and then freaking running out from everywhere… all they want is for the table to be open against the ghost…

Thats why i'm not sure that mike shoots better than players like Bergman (which he would probably beat matching up because he breaks about 50 times better)…. but playing the ghost evens that out dramatically.

Interesting. I didn't know that the top guys break soft. Thanks for sharing.
