10 Ball Ghost - Valley Bar Box

I just played ball in hand 10 ball vs. the Ghost on a 7 foot Valley with standard Valley cloth. I took ball in hand after the break. Balls that scratched or jumped the table stayed down.

I only got out 5 times in 10 tries. Here's my point. When I gamble 9 ball vs. the Ghost on a standard cut Gold Crown, I'm usually out over 50% of the time, although rates may vary due to operator error..

AZ folks, what would you rather do? Bar box 10 ball on a Valley, or 9 ball on a standard Gold Crown? I'm going to post either way, but am interested in AZ board input.

Thanks

Between your 2 options I'd choose barbox 10 ball. The barbox can't over come a big break...then your not playing 10 ball.;)

Edited to add: Just reread your post...you really need a barbox with Simonis. A big break won't help nearly as much on the Valley cloth.

I like 9 ball on either table, and 10 ball only on he big table.

10 ball = more clusters
Barbox = the more balls on the table, the more clusters
10 ball + barbox = more clusters than 10 ball on 9 footer = more failed runouts, barring making 2 balls on the break.

Simonis is preferred, because you need lotsa ball on the break.

I'd pick "Bar box 10 ball on a Valley" between those 2 choices.
