The link below has pictures of almost 80 Szamboti cues, and there are some nice barbell cues sprinkled in there. My favorite barbell design is in pict2337. If you're looking for inspiration, might as well look to the top.

The cue below does not belong to me, and I apologize if anyone takes offense to my sharing this picture. I'll remove it promptly if requested. It is however, an incredible looking design. I don't remember the maker, but if you know who did it please give them the credit they deserve.
