Excellent! I'll add you to the list at FindSnooker.com.

Could you post a photo of the snooker table in this thread? What can you tell us about the snooker players in your area?

I noticed that there's also a carom table. Nice.

Thank you! I'm very proud of the table, it's a REAL beauty. No expense was spared in making this a true competition/tournament quality table. I saw no point in getting one in the first place unless it was going to be 100% British Tournament ready.

The table is a very recent acquisition and getting the word out is the hard part. We have a few British/Canadian/Australian/New Zealander customers who play on it regularly and who are doing a good job of spreading the word. It's such a specialty table that we don't expect it to be used as often as our other 20 Brunswick Tables, but it's wonderful to have, and VERY rare. I'm very proud that we just get to say that we have the table available for those who appreciate the unique game.

We also have a ten foot Verhoeven Carom Table with Simonis 300 cloth. That table gets alot of use, especially from our Asian customers. They LOVE it! Full set of Belgian Aramith Tournament 61.5mm Carom balls, including the BLUE ONE, although I still can't find out how that one is supposed to be used!

I can't seem to figure out how to post a picture INSIDE this thread, and just realized that I need to add some pics to our PlayersBilliards.net site. In the meantime, many pictures can be seen on Facebook, on our "photos" page. Just search for "Players Billiards Cafe"

Thanks.

Also considering getting a 12' Russian billiards table, but that might just be wishful thinking. We have 21 Brunswick American Pool tables, the 12' Snooker table, 10' Carom table, Poker, Ping Pong, Beer Pong & Video Games, so in all honesty, I have not idea where we could fit another 12' table. Believe it or not, I have gotten ALOT of interest in the game once the suggestion was made to me and I started asking our customers about it. I'm just nervous about tables that will gather dust and be pointed at, instead of being played on.

I haven't seen a blue ball in a 4 ball set - but it might be for the
Japanese version of what we call Straight Rail Billiards. In this game,
there are 2 Object Balls - so you don't play off your opponents Cue Ball.
In fact, hitting the opponents CB is a foul - It makes for very different
tactics from the 3 ball version.

From Wikipedia:

A variation of four-ball is popular in Central Europe, especially in the Czech Republic. It is called desítkový karambol (Czech for "tenfold carom") and is played with two white balls, a blue ball, and a red ball which serves as the cue ball. Players score a point by hitting on any other two balls with the cue ball. A hit off all three balls, however, scores 10 points, one point shot and 10 points shot is doubled by hitting a cushion before hitting any of the other balls for a total of 2 or 20 points in one shot.

It was a real pain in the neck to find. None of the suppliers knew what I was talking about. Finally contacted Saluc, the maker of Aramith and Centennial balls. They made them, but not for the US. Took several months for me to get. :)

To add a picture, you would need to have the image available at some fixed web address. You then wrap that address in "" tags like the following (without the single quotes or spaces)

' [img]www.mywebsite.com/images/snooker01.jpg '

When you click Reply and the edit window appears, there's a pale yellowish icon about 2/3 from the left of the toolbar just above the textbox where you type your message. That pale yellow button is the "Insert Image" button. You can click that button, paste or type the text for your picture's web address, and go from there.

Alternately you can start a free account on a web service like Picasa, upload your images there, and link to that site instead.

Also considering getting a 12' Russian billiards table, but that might just be wishful thinking. ... I recall that earlier this year a Russian billiards table down in Florida was for sale. I say "a" table even though, as far as I've ever heard, it's "the" Russian billiards table in the Eastern U.S. There may well be another such table somewhere, perhaps in New York or wherever it is that Russians like to hang out these days. (Although some Russian spies were recently found in Boston, they didn't call attention to themselves by trying to get a pyramid table installed. That might have been a little too obvious.)

The table that ended up at Ultimate Billiards may be the one that was for sale and/or Ultimate Billiards may simply be the new name after a change of ownership of the pool hall that had the Russian billiards table.

I'd say you'd get more mileage out of another 12' snooker table, but if you had the Russian billiards table I might have to convince my wife that some sort of urgent need is calling me/us down to Eatontown, NJ. Any good restaurants nearby?

I don't believe we have enough call for a second snooker table, but I hope that changes once word gets out. Definitely love to have a Russian pool table just because of its rarity and uniqueness, that's for sure! HAHAHA....as a matter of fact, there's a really great restaurant right next door to the poolhall called Bogart's bistro. They have excellent food, and with my hours, I eat there much more than I should :)

Just converted an 8' Brunswick Medalist to a Russian Billiards table as a test to see if there's enough interested to warrant a 12' table. Have the 68mm Aramith balls, table has 72mm pockets. Hardest thing to find was the rack! Wickedly interesting game!
