14.1 Internet Game

If you buy Virtual Pool 3 from Celeris (www.celeris.com), it's a quite realistic pool simulator, and 14.1 is one of the several games it has. It's not an internet game, though; just a game you can install on your computer. I believe you can play against other people over a network, but I'm not sure whether anyone actually does that.
Anyway, I definitely recommend it for the price. Since I bought it, I've spent more hours happily playing it per dollar I paid than probably any other video game I've ever had (although I'm not a big gamer).

just to add my support for andrew's recomendation - virtual pool 3 is a brilliant game.
You can play VP3 on Gamespy Arcade and play people all around the world. Once you're in the lobby you can start any sort of game you want and wait for someone to join or invite players. I joined Gamespy years ago, so I'm not sure if it requires a paid subscription now or not.
I'm pretty sure there is a downloadable version of VP3 from the Celeris site so you don't have to go to the store or wait for the cd to come in the mail. The newest version installs onto your computer and you won't need to have the cd in the drive to play.
