14.1: Natural Break Ball Angle/ Closing the Distance

his video contains two blocks of instruction - I made these videos for a video evaluation for Steve Kurtz in 2010.

Block 1 is entitled "Getting a Natural Angle on the Break Ball" as opposed to have to apply english or spin on the cue ball to have it contact the stack while you are pocketing the break ball. I cover what is known as "The Parallel Line" when positioning the cue ball for the ensuing break shot.

Block 2 is entitled "Closing the Distance". This covers finding a secondary break ball that is in close proximity to a cluster that needs to be dispersed.

Similar versions of both of these videos will be included in my 14.1 DVD.

Good post dave.... I Will be your Pin Cushion any day !!!

Actually, I had forgotten about all of the videos I made for your evaluation. I made them with the intention of saving them for references for the dvd. After I created and shipped your DVD's (I think I sent you a bunch of them) then I couldn't find the files for the videos. I finally looked in a folder with your name on it, and found a lot of these videos hidden in a master file for your evaluation.

I said it in the video, and I will say it again - I learn more (for myself) by doing these evaluations. That is because we all share common weaknesses and flaws in our games. Iron sharpens iron. Just think of how many people are going to learn because you and I got together and decided to go through with the evaluations on those videos.

Your not a pin cushion - go back and look at the eval I did for Dave Segal where the cat jumps on the table - that is my favorite one so far, followed closely by the one where Dennis calls his cue ball a corksoaker.

Absolutely Brilliant !!!

i was just Joshing Around. I love the work you do dave and you know that !
I agree, what can be lerned here on any level you cant get anywhere else. i think the video is a great tool to have in your case. I have to start filming myself again, if not just for posting runs, but to review and pick up my Many Mistakes that i make.... I Have gotten better with taking laps arond the table though :-);)
