2007 Derby City Straight Pool Challenge
Schedule:
Prelims in the Chapel, January 7-10
Finals Thursday, January 11, location TBD
The game is straight pool (14.1) shoot-out -- you against the table with no opponent. There will be four days of prelims inthe Chapel. Each try begins with a 14-ball rack and the 15th
ball and the cue ball in hand, but both the 15th ball and the cue ball must be at least one ball diameter from any other ball. Each try ends on a miss or foul.
A $100 entry gets you a total of four tries on three different days. You can also get a single-day entry for $50, but you cannot try on more than three days.
The eight players with the highest runs in the prelims will play in the finals with five tries each. Order of play will be by high run in the prelims starting with the lowest.
Prizes ($10k added, entries 100% returned, based on 17 players):
Prelim prizes each day: 1st $300, 2nd $200, 3rd $100
(total $600*4 = $2400, one prize per player each day)
Finals: 1st $2000, 2nd $1500, 3rd $1200, 4th $1000,
5th $800, 6th $700, 7th $600, 8th $500
Bonus: $1000 for high run overall.
Special bonus: $1000 for the first run over 200.
The above payouts are with 17 entries and will vary according to the final number of entries.
