Im off to Junior Nationals and it should be the biggest one, as it grows every year. Leaving tonight and going half way to Rochester,MN so i can get some practice and compete in the mini-singles. Singles is Friday morning and team is Saturday. Singles should go well because im in the zone right now. Team should go just a fine, although our team is a youth, a minor, and a major in the major division. Dr.cue, Jerry Briesath, and Ginger Wizard are all going to be there. I'll try and post results sunday night or monday morning.

Good luck to you, TannerPruess! :)

Let us know about the venue and a little bit about the format, for those of us not in the know about this event!

Before any tournament I go to, even as a professional railbird, I sometimes get a case of pre-tournament jitters, but always the optimist, I try to think positive thoughts with happy endings! AND sometimes I am pleasantly surprised! :p

U.S. Open Champion Jimmy Reid told me once that it is imperative that a player be surrounded with good vibes and positive thinkers before competition. After one acquires the mechanical skills set needed to play well, the rest of it is upstairs. I think the ability to actually believe in yourself is just as an important tool as is practice. And in some instances, I think the power of positive thinking is what separates the champions from the B players.

So give 'em all you got, and play well! I'll be pulling for you!

Nationals is held at 3 locations throughout the years:Sioux City, Iowa - Mankato, Minnesota - Rochester, Minnesota. Rochester is once every five years. There others are every other year. The teams are made up of 3 players, unless you have a sub. Sinlges is race to 4 in winners and 3 in losers. Both are double elimination. Mini-singles is race to 3 i think and only single elim. It is all 8 ball, no 9 ball :( but that is okay. No entry fee, no qualifiers, just have to participate in 3 lg matches or 18 games. Prior years i've won one mini singles and got 2nd once. Team we got 5-6th back to back years. Singles i got 9-12th.

Looking to break through this year.
