I believe his jump cues are longer than the jump section of his jump/break cue, but not sure. I have one of his J/B cues and couldn't be happier with it. It jumps great and breaks a ton.
 
To put things in a nutshell. Jump cues are made specifically for jumping and break cues are made specifically for breaking. A J/B cue is the best of both worlds, but not equal to either.
 
I have a Lomax jump cue. Most are made (butts) from a very light S Amer wood - Tornillo. They are a 3 pc jumper, ala the Pred Air, but far superior. The shaft taper is real stiff & I would expect it to make a good break shaft. I think you could expect the JB to be heavier in the jump section because it's probably not Tornillo. If it was it would be very butt heavy. That being considered, I'd expect to lose some close quarters jump proficiency in the JB - just as with any other JB I've ever used.
