I have a 1923 Monarch Brunswick Balke Colender, I am the second owner.
When I moved to Gilroy Ca. which is hot, I noticed ways in my slate had risen.
The ways go up to 0.003 inches in height and they are parallel across the length of the slate.
The slate is soft, a local mechanic tried to sand it level but he did not have the right tools.
Table has the original rubber (slow), would like to change it to Artemis?
Table is triple shimmed but I would like it to be single shimmed as I play One Pocket.

Thinking, RKC would be the man to fix this, or !!!

What your slate needs is a process called blocking. It is done with a machinist stone (or block) and sand paper. If you post this in the "Ask the Mechanic" section you'll get the correct responses. Mark Gregory (perfectpocketz) did my slate and it made a huge difference.

Thanks Cheyvybob.
I thought there was a mechanics section and looked but did not scroll down enough.
When our local mechanic tried to do this he made it more wavy.
I was thinking of taking the slates to someone who makes Tombstones.
I believe they have machines that can make it level.
Slate measures 1 1/4 inch.

For what its worth, the name "Monarch" is referring to the cushions.

Your table is the BBC "Madison", and looks to be in great condition.
Good luck with the upgrades, it will make a fine table.

Edit:
you will want to make sure that your subrail has the proper angle for modern replacement rubber, or else your noses will be in the wrong place
