Johnston City? Anybody have a copy of the footage? 
I'm not sure which year that was, but the first year that tourney was filmed was in '63 I believe, and it was not just stragiht pool -- it was 9-ball and One Pocket, toosteadyneddy said:
CBS filmed at least the all-around finals of the '63 tournament won by Lassiter over Eddie Taylor.
ABC filmed the '64 tournament, the all-around finals of which were won by Taylor over Lassiter.
There is really lousy footage of at least one or two of the old Johnston City tournaments that show up on eBay regularly. They are very hard to view copies made by video-taping a film projected on a screen in somebodies family room. Now and then some kids pass through
Pretty neat to see though.Imagine that, one of the very first times a pool tournament was on TV, it featured One Pocket! (They did do a lot of editing for the broadcast of course)

I have been trying to track down the footage for a while now. It seems that since billiards as a sport is not as popular as hockey or any of the others they dont maintain those reels. Basically, most of the companies have moved since that time and they throw away alot of old stuff. We are still looking though and if we do find it we will share it!
