1963 Ginacues sold on ebay (within hours)

I'd never call him a liar, I was just saying I found it odd that I had seen so many of the 15. I mean the cues are 40years old, in that time you'd expect some to be lost, destroyed, or just out of circulation (they weren't thought of as collectable back then). And just for the record I think the link to Chalkers that is listed above with the 3 cues aren't the script we were talking about, maybe I misunderstood. Those are the block letters, I was talking about the script who's talking about the wrong ones (could be me).?

Jim

I've deleted my messages because I had the wrong logo. I know which one now, it's in the Blue Book page 219. I've seen it a few times too. I deleted because I didn't want the buyer to arbitrarily assume I knew what I was talking about.

i think when we say script " cursive " would be the correct term.

if we use cursive and block that would make it more clear.

does anyone have pics of the cue in question, as the link didnt work when i tried it .... the original one from the begging of the thread?

hey barbourdg, I accept your response for no disrespect, however forget about me selling you a Gus or Barry! Yes I posted the pics on ebay and you posted the web address but you also posted the picture on AZ.

I don't see anything wrong with what barbourdg did. He/She posted a LINK to your auction. He also posted a LINK to your directory of pix. Nothing wrong with that.

If he downloaded your pix, placed it on somewhere and posted the link here, then you can all ***** about copyright sh!t.

I quoted Ernie per his letter to me about the "script" ginacue signature. If I was to describe the signature as merylane suggested, I would have described it as a cursive signature. I appreciate your concern for the buyer and thank you for your retraction of messages. While this has certainly been an interesting topic and we might all have learned something, any problems or bad feelings could have been avoided if my auction was left on ebay as intended. Dave

As Blowfish stated, nobody posted your picture on AZ. The webaddress (director) where you YOURSELF published your photo online, was listed here. YOUR PHOTO was not posted here. The director web address, will show any images on the web, including yours - until the time comes when you decide to remove it from your Server/Ebay, etc... You had total control of your photo the entire time. Nobody downloaded or copied your photo here.

Second, any Ginacue (and most other collector cues) listed on ebay, are NORMALLY ALWAYS listed here in the forums for conversation and/or advice. Are you telling AZ Members, that they have no right to discuss and link ebay auctions on rare cues unless they get the listing persons permission?

Third, how would I know you were an AZ member. Not that it would of mattered, but what is the big deal on AZ members seeing your auction? If anything it will draw more attention and get you a higher bid.

Lastly, the only reason there was some confusion on this thread (on your cursive script), is because you removed the photo from your server. If you would of left the images on ebay, then people would of known it was cursive.

Once again I mean no disrespect, but this thread was started because I was just curious on the value on an early Ginacue.

Dave,

Sorry, I know how it is. People start talking (in my case, out of the butt) and it gets out of control. I recall from the photo that it was a great cue and thinking it over, you did give the buyer a terrific deal. he looks like a very seasoned buyer anyway, so he should be used to the scuttlebutt, and I am sure he is thrilled with the cue, especially with Ernie writing such a nice letter.

The fact that we are so incredulous actually is a compliment to the cue. How often are you going to find such an early Gina ?

It was a great deal IMHO, and consider most great players in 60s own a gina probably it seen great days on the pool table....

Anyway, a player in Singapore bought a 2002 basic five pointer Gina recently for 2300USD .. It plays great.. but honestly the roundish CNC points really puts me off and reminded me of Schon....
