Both have a rare 5/16x18 pin still have their original finish - both still in great shape for 40+ year old cues :)

Pretty

They are 1974 Joss Cues. Danny only used the 18 pin in 1974. Told me so.
Good stuff,
Nick :)

Love the one with the Hoppe ring.

Thanks for sharing.

Bill and Danny used 5/16x18 thread when they started Joss cues in 1968 until they found the 5/16x14 pins in 1969. They used them from then on except for a short period in 1974 when they temporarily ran out and built approx. 9 cues with the 18 thread pin until they were able to get more 5/16x14 pins. The 1968-1972 cues had an italic Joss logo. The 1974 cues had the vertical block letter Joss logo.

Great information Bob. I love the older Joss cues, as I'm sure most of us do.

Nice cues OP. The pre logo Joss is my favorite of the two, but the other one's not too shabby either.

Thanks for the pics.

Thanks. The 1969 Joss is up fs on ebay now. Trying to narrow the collection down :)

Danny said to me.

Joss Cues used the 18 pin in 1974 only on maybe a dozed Cues and some were returned for a repinning. Never on early Cues. Never used on early Joss Cues. I asked about mine being old and Danny said no way. He knew it was being sold for a charity donation and was sad the information was lowering the value of the Cue. The charity was for one of his friends widow.
He said as much as the money would help the Cue was a 74.
And that is that.
Nick :)
