Were you able to play any pool at all in AFG?
No not really. If there were tables they were not worth looking at let alone playing on so I never played because it would only piss me off. I was in that crap hole of a country fours years so I am a bit out of practice but hopefully the Diamond will get me back in shape.

Many thanks for your sacrifice in keeping our country safe. Now it's time to kick back and enjoy your new Diamond table. Please post some pics of your new table when you get the room set up.

Firstly Thank You on behalf of all living in the good old USA for what you have contributed to our safety and so glad you made it home safely.

Secondly you are going to love it and please do post some pics when you are ready.

En Route

Atex Family Fun Just picked up the table and she's on the way!!!

I sold my table to John to buy HD Cameras and related gear for the show. Really hated to see her go, but the show must go on.:thumbup2:

Have fun with her John! I sure did.

So after working in Afghanistan for 4 LONG years I am on my way home as I write this. I bought a mint condition used 9ft. Diamond Pro-Am for myself and will be turning my garage into my little pool sanctuary. It's coming on the 21st of this month!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the rant, just a bit excited

John,

Welcome home. I work for the Army (civilian type) I have not been to Afghanistan but I have been to Saudi a few times in the last year, they have money and no war and it is a $hithole, I can only imagine what Afghanistan is like.

Thanks for your service both active and as a contractor.

Enjoy your new table and post up some pics when it arrives. I can't get enough pics of people's tables and rooms, i am sure lots of others are the same.

First I want to thank ya'll for the very kind words. It sure does mean a lot and I greatly appreciate it.

The guys from A-Tex Family Fun out of Austin just left my house. The 9' Diamond Pr-Am is sitting nicely in the garage. She sure is a beauty. I've already hit a few balls of course and it plays GREAT.

I'm going to need another couple days to decorate and put the light up. Then I will start another thread with some pics for ya'll. Damn I'm going to have fun setting up this room. I just moved back into my house last Saturday when I came home and there is a tone of stuuf to do. Screw the rest of the house. The garage has officially taken priority

Thanks Again Guys, John

I'm surprised you didn't get a 10' Diamond! I thought everything was bigger in Texas! lol Just kidding!!!

LOL yeah that's what they say. Man I am just happier than a pig in sh*t right now. Gotta go hit some balls and start decorating.

Had a small disaster yesterday. I decided to be my usual stubborn self and hang the light by myself. i had it on the table resting on a few shelves I planned to use to hold the light while I hung it. Well I lost my balance and the light went crashing to the floor from table height breaking one of the corners. I immediateley went to Lowes and bought some new braces, fixed and hung the light. One could never tell anything ever happened. It looks great. Will post some pics shortly.

That is a bummer, I hate it when I mess up new stuff.

John so happy you are safe. Thank you so much for your service to our country. Just stroke an don't poke, that's what she told me on the wedding night. I know you will enjoy your table.
