Signed Richard Black May 12, 1978.
6 ebony points (3 hi, 3 lo) into maple.
Ebony butt sleeve with black delrin buttcap (I think delrin).
All inlays in cue are sterling silver.
Joint is sterling silver sleeve over stainless piloted joint.
Richard stated that he only made about 15 of these cues, and that it was pretty difficult to execute the joint collar, as he had to cast the silver and hope that there were no air bubbles, etc. in it that would show once it was turned down.
When I handed him the cue, he stated that it did not appear to have ever been refinished. He stated that he used a Sherwin Williams finish at that time which didn't have any UV protection in it, and that cues of that vintage would "yellow" a bit, causing the silver to look gold. Cue is straight together and apart.
2 shafts
#1 12.61mm - 3.875 ozs.
#2 12.48mm - 3.375 ozs.
Butt is 16.625 ozs.
Richard stated replacement value would be $5000.
Price drop to SOLDshipped in CONUS. Thanks for looking. Offers entertained. Trades considered but not very likely.
